Zakka's new deal

10year deal… get around it

6 months incentive based.

Zaka's football could probably benifit by this, he is easily one of the most fustrating footballers I have ever seen play for Essendon.
43 Touches against GC then nada against port the following week.

Wins ANZAC day medal then nada the next week.

He's one of our best players and there's still plenty of upside with Zaka.

There's room for improvement of course but it's not like he's coasting, you can tell he's putting a lot of work into many different areas of his game to become more consistent.

He has had a few injuries over the years which have held him back a bit, plus with Watson, Stanton, Hocking, Goddard locked into the midfield he has to fight it out with Howlett, Heppel, Melksham etc for the last couple of spots and so often doesn't spend the full game as a midfielder. This could be related to injury management too.

We know he's capable of big games but I think that consistency will come with experience, and if it doesn't then he's still a pretty handy addition to our side and the least of our problems.

The moment he imagined them happening.

He averaged almost 22.7 possessions a game last year. Only 6 possessions in round 1, was he the sub?

Seems to be pretty solid stats for a guy who plays up forward a fair bit.

Didn’t play forward much last year. His work rate defensively (and his actual damage with the ball in hand, for a very very good kick & regular goalkicker) wasn’t as good as it could have been but he always found a bit of the ball.

We don’t want Zaha handballing.

He kicked 9 goals last year, 4 in the one game.

Compare that to when he was actually playing forward, and it shows that he has been primarily a midfielder for quite some time now.

If anything, he doesn’t spend enough time up forward. And he won’t until another outside mid puts their hand up.

yes he was the sub in round 1.

In round 2 I'm pretty sure he was subbed off before 3 qtr time as well.

3 years, just announced

Exodus continues.

Well done Zaka and the club for getting this done and dusted!

Now we can look forward to this season and not have to worry about it and focus on re-signing the rest of our boys.

Hibberd next please!

Ledgend of a bloke. Happy with this.

swweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttt

Great news - more reverse exodus now needed for Hibberd, Hocking, Winderlich.

I'm worrried that Winderlich will do a hammy reaching across the desk to sign

I loev the way he goes about his on field work.

Great news, well done ZAKA.

EXODUS.

Gosh I’m sick of this mass exodus of players. It just seems like everyday we lose another player.

Oh wait…
