Its only something he can do. We would be stupid to not look at anything that is half decent
Keep in mind that there is no story to tell for these AFL parasites if Francis is a standard case of a tall taking a few years to grow, get his body AFL ready and understanding the level of intensity required at training and during the game. This is true for 95% of draftees so itâs boring.
But to tell a story of wasted talent, lack of commitment, disillusioned with the club, a failed high draft pick etc makes so much better clickbait. Furthermore there is absolutely no accountability because by the time Francis succeeds theyâve changed the agenda.
Itâs simple - Francis struggled with his fitness in year one - Was given targets too reach on day 1 of his second pre-season - Apparently he returned at about the same level as season 1 - Hence the concern.
This being the case, he would have had all this year dealing with the consequences of last yearâs poor off season.
Every continuing player has been given a road map for where they need to be when they turn up in November. We will really see where Francis is at when he turns up. If he has learned from last year, then things should be fine. If he puts in a repeat performance like last year, then we are in trouble.
I reckon the big test for Franga will be how he comes back after xmas break.
From memory thatâs what really stuffed him up last preseason.
This whole"give him time to grow into his body" would be the single worst excuse you could make for someone whoâs barely improved in 24 months at the club. What a load of sh*t
agreed. while they are different, check out what begley and oliver have done with their bodies in 12-24 months.
but as mentioned here already, it has to come from him, otherwise we have a cupido et al on our hands.
its scientific though. at the moment, his skin and muscles are longer than his bones, so there is some superfluous tissue at the end of his extremeties, IE, his feet and hands. Therefore, when he runs, the extra tissue rubs in his shoe and causes immense pain, hence why he hasnt been able to run far.
his lack of touch when marking and picking up the ball is also explained by the extra tissue bunched at the end of his fingers (if you have high enough res photos, you can actually see it) meaning that when he tries to mark the ball the extra tissue which isnt yet supported by bone structure cannot grip the ball propertly.
im telling you, give him a couple more years and hell grow and these issues will iron themselves out.

zoom in on his fingers if you dont believe me, you can see it, particularly on his left index finger.

Bring back the beard!
Is that a recent pic?
Wow⌠Trump would kill for such big hands
Itâs like buying a $68,000 four-wheel drive, and you were well aware that it had the wrong tread on the tires for taking it off road.
2 weeks later you decide to sell the four-wheel drive, because it has the wrong tread on the tires.
The problem is your only gonna get $35,000 for selling it.
Youâve wasted 28,000. The next car you buy is Not even close in quality to the Mercedes you origanally purchased.
The point of the story:
you knew what you were buying, so get something else if you donât like it.
Or
Order new treads and wait patiently for them to arrive.
Waiting and patience are in very short supply here.
Speaking of in out anyone else see shawrys tweet @ 6:45pm? Is he on the turps?
Thatâs a really poor analogy.
Your suggestion is that him reaching his full potential is a certainty; we just need to bide our time.
Thatâs not the case. If he was a car, it would be more like heâs a bit of a lemon Ferrari, bought for the price of a Merc. He doesnât run quite right, or at least not for long once you start him up. But we thought with the right mechanics, we could get him purring for the whole race.
So far they havenât worked it out. Maybe they never will. Maybe another team think they have the mechanics that can do it and are still willing to pay a slightly used Merc price, but the longer our mechanics keep working on him without success, the further his resale value will drop.
Of course, thatâs not the best analogy either, because his problem is in his head, and only he can sort it out.
