I don’t know what the answer is, it might or might not be Kako, but holy sweet god we need some quality small forwards that can actually look dangerous and pressure.
Is Kako actually quick? In the vids available he looks like he darts around fast in congestion but doesnt seem to be overly fast outside that
I think he’s more Papley quick than Davey quick. Not lightening, but powerful with good enough acceleration to get clear.
Yeah ok, just noticed he never seemed to put much of a gap on his oppo and got caught a couple of times
No idea who the chasing players were either so they may well be lightning fast
Is he a chance to play some VFL for us this year? Looks like Calder will play finals so will be very late on in the year if at all.

With pick 15. Essendon have selected …
Isaac Kako from the Calder Cannons
He might be good enough to play, doesnt mean Scott will select him over Menzie.
Resist and run Kako
top 4 is extremely optimistic
I assumed it was a matched bid at 15
After taking pick 9
Thats what I meant
Kako is probably thinking it’s a good time to take up Golf, Fark this AFL garbage ![]()
Can’t wait for his debut … in 2030.
Kako should already be thinking of 2 years at Essendon, then getting the hell out of the Club and moving elsewhere to experience success and not have his career handicapped.
We seriously need a player like this that can cause havoc around the contest.
Think your right. Gee its going to be a long offseason watching another Essendon free September.
I know; we should have won 4 (rather than 3) games last September.
If we’re smart (which we’re not) we’d have already told kako that we will match the bid and that his preseason starts now - if he’s fit enough he will be playing round 1 2025 given how dire our small forward stocks are.
Kako can make an instant difference for us if he puts in the hard work between now and March 2025
Well, menzie should be out the door…how the fck does he get another year?
I would be looking for a small forward in trade period, plus Kako.
Putrid?
Understating it a tad there.
