#10 St Francis de Agressi - up to 2021 round 2

You don’t need to go with all 3 though, Ridley is a lock so if you go with 2 of the above plus 2 smaller in the back six, say Hind and Hep. Leaves 1 spot and a lottery for that. Redman, Francis and a couple others maybe fighting for it.

I don’t buy the whole Ridley plays his position and he’s better, Grimes and Vlastuin play exactly how Ridley and Francis should/will play, They also have Balta and Astbury as their key talls (Hopefully Reid and Brand for us)

No knock on Ridley, he is great at what he does, but he does not crash packs or have the physical presence that Francis does/will have. I see them as complimenting each other in to the future, not competing for the same spot.

Two talls
Two med/talls
Three smalls

Hooker, Hurley (Zerk, McBride, Reid)
Ridley, Francis (Heppell, Ambrose, Cox, Gleeson)
Hind, Redman, Guelfi (Smith, Zaka, Hird, Johnson, Cahill)

Ridley and Francis can easily play in the same team

Francis has shown very few signs so far of doing the pack crashing. Hopefully he starts this year

Thank you.
Finally a sensible post on how contemporary backlines are structured.
You can bounce players between roles, but then there’s the fundamentals

Just because you disagree with a post, doesn’t mean it isn’t ‘sensible’.

I don’t see a role for Aaron long term as a tall defender, and I don’t think he can play on small forwards.
But I do see a role as a utility playing back or forward (wherever needed) with some bursts through the midfield - if he gets to AFL levels of fitness. Whether he has the footy IQ to play these different positions is unclear as he’s never had the tank or the durability to show us over an extended period.

That sounds like the exact role Cox will likely play.

We’ve tried to manufacture a version of Francis and we’re notoriously ■■■■ at doing that.

Maybe you should drop the ‘bread’ part of your name

I love franga. The forgotten man.

Forgotten because he’s played a good month in his career so far.

We’ve got enough backs. Francis can lead, mark and kick straight (and occaisionally flatten a hapless Hawks player). I’ll go all in on the Matthew Lloyd skillset thanks.

Taller than Lloyd too,

Franga flying above 2 ex-Essendon players.

Was a bloody good month.

Worth then having on the list for 3 more years!

You think I need to cut out the carbs?

Has he got a tank to try him in the midfield yet? is that EVER going to happen?
