#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026 (Part 1)

In 10 years time, I could see him playing a similar role to what James Hird used to play.

Just let him float around where he’s most dangerous and reading the momentum of the game.

He kicked most of his set shot goals on the right so I’m assuming that’s his natural foot?

That left foot field kicking though :open_mouth:

*most

Which in itself is amazing

This guy is a real talent.

Could be anything.

Except Cox will run more in one game than the Big Lazy ■■■■ in all his 58 games

Imagine if Scotty Lucas had a right foot…

Well, yeah, but that was before our coaches told him to stop doing that. Then after they killed his natural game, they delisted him.

Finally Essendon gets a Cox!!!

I thought he looked more “natural” kicking on his left. A lot to like about our big Cox.

Maybe they stopped him doing that because he wasn’t actually very good on either side and they figured concentrating on one side might make that side decent.

Cox doesn’t seem to have that problem

If that was the case, maybe they shouldn’t have drafted him…?

They should only draft players that are perfect and have nothing that needs work?
Especially with picks after 40

As Collingwood will learn to their detriment, you don’t want the biggest Cox in town, you want the busiest.

And balls to match

Do you really want a big cox who swings forward and back? Sounds painful TBH.

Will be better than Jamarra

Jamar or Jamarra?

Agree with those who have mentioned his confidence/attitude as a big positive. To have that dominating, extroverted mindset and his obvious penchant for creative flair- built-in with that football skill set is indeed a great combination.

As an aside- I can actually see traits of both Gumbleton and Kepler Bradley- but neither to me had that same extroverted personality (or elite kicking skills!). Perhaps this lad can be that gane-transforming player in the way we hoped those other earlier draft picks could have been.

It’s his speed and agility that give him chances the other two didn’t have.

My only concern are the mentions of his marking ability. We shall see.

Sounds arrogant.
