He will be a run up at,and over the pack kind of mark not contested.
And just burn blokes on a lead.

Creating the mismatch will be his modus operandi in contested situations.
Somebody update the thread name - should be Nik āMismatchā Cox going forward
OR
Nik āDisruptorā Cox
The only time I saw him in those highlights use his ānon-optimalā foot was having a shot from about 40 when he kicked on his left from a slight angle.
So I was assuming that he was a natural left footerā¦
Also, I thought the biggest knock on him was his contested marking? Didnāt seem to be much of a problem in those highlights.
He will be a run and jump at it contested marker.
Not a hold your ground type.
Which is fine.
I prefer the āanythingā to be an Essendon premiership player.
I prefer to never hear such a banal and obvious statement.
"Could be anything", ⦠ah, ya donāt say.???

Start him on the wing and leave him there.
Has there ever been a 6ā5 winger with Nikās running capabilities in the league? I canāt really think of one (Blicavs sort of).
Point Iām trying to make is having a 6ā5 winger is a massive point of difference for us. There are 6ā5 Key backs/forwards that can run, but not an out and out winger. Having Cox really gives us a chance to innovate with the position and do something that hasnāt been done. Hope
We get creative.
Coaches will know best, but Iām Team Wing.
His running capabilities will inevitably diminish as he stacks on another 10kg or whatever to get an afl-ready body. He may well still be a very good runner for a 200cm bloke, but Iād expect that by that time the endurance smalls will leave him in their dust.
His running capabilities will be a weapon when pitted against other talls. You canāt reasonably expect heāll remain a top-handful runner as he fills out.
Hopefully heās still out marking midfielders thoughā¦
But heās closer to 6ā7ā than 6ā5ā.
Can kick a footy on both sides cleanly. All I need to know.
Of all the positions he could play, surely not wing. Itās fantasy to think someone of his frame would excel over the elite.
Is it just me or does this guy have a 2m tall Stanton appearanceā¦
And his contested possession numbers are incredibly low suggesting he is not a credible wingman.
Hopefully we donāt try to use him as a utility type.
Choose a position and let him develop into that position.
Weāve chopped and changed a lot with some playersā positions.
I hope we play him forward.
