#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026

Every single thread on Blitz. Player X is sht, went backwards this year, we should trade him. Every thread. 2 months ago everyone was happy with how he was developing, then he battles towards the end of the season as all of the senior players struggle as well and now he’s useless. The same for every young player thread on the board. I guess we just keep Merrett and delist everyone.

We are a meme. Just enjoy to learn how laughable it really is, its way easier. But yes, inagine not rating massimo yet giving menzie and cox extensions

Ya gotta laugh. You just have to

I’d trade merrett too. 29 and the only bloke with serious value

Hindsight is unbeatable but I actually really liked Massimo in the team last year.
Thought his kicking was awesome and his ability to scrap and find the footy was a clear highlight.

If course we also completely blamed him for a couple of losses because of his softness. And being Essendon we just decided that was it.

Mass having shown more than Cox to the end of last year is a pretty big stretch.

His form early left season was really really promising before he got banished to the VFL.

I thought he was in our bests vs the saints and scott dropped him for losing a couple of 1v1s he wasn’t physically equipped for.

It was ridiculous. He should have stayed in and there would have been no debate about whether or not he’d shown more than Cox

Just on this, its largely true. There are some exceptions. Caldwell, durham, draper in patches. I do think cox’s form was completely over rated this year too

Redman, parish, hobbs, perkins, gresham, wright, menzie, ADJ and mcgrath have all gone backwards in a big way to varying degrees. Langford and McKay died mid season. Stringer isn’t moving the needle anymore. Guelfi, ridley, reid injury prone

Should we trade them? Some of them, Yes. These are the same guys who fail year in, year out, but of course with their contracts we can’t. We might trade one or two if we got adventurous. But we are stuck with them, thats the reality

Let’s go back to talking about his concussion and how people don’t understand physics at even the most basic level. At least it’s more interesting than every thread becoming list management

This pick was just an honest misunderstanding.

When Dodoro requested info on Cox, he was told he was “Tall and Apathetic”. Dodoro misunderstood. Now we have a tall player that doesn’t care.

lol the thing i’d forgotten about mass last year was that he played 5 games in a row mid year - as the sub.

bahahaha

no wonder he left ffs

It’s amazing that they value it so highly, constantly talk it up after taking players.

Yet we ironically have so many one dimensional players comparative to other teams. Barely any of our mids are capable on a flank either end, none of our smalls can switch (ala Blake Hardwick, Bags, Mark Johnson), and we no longer have a swingman post Hooker.

No, I can think of about 9 players who should be retained.

The other 33 or so can either Retire, change clubs or Fark right off.

It would make interesting reading to see comments after the Saints game in round 3 last year when Mass got outmarked by Higgins.

Actually sounds like a great idea. Just start again.

I think the general sentiment when Scott dropped him was total shock and most thought he was among the better players on the night. Many also highlighted that the reason he got sold out and isolated in 1 v1s late were because of terrible kicking turnovers by Ridley and lav iirc

This makes my blood boil.

We’ve done it with Tsatas, Perkins and Hobbs this year also.

We effectively use the sub rule to destroy young players’ confidence and halt their development.
