Anyone have the scoop on Raz? Just resting him or is it another injury?
Continued management of the existing issue i believe
Injury, can’t be fixed without surgery, trying to manage him until the end of the year.
About time.
Has been terrible for months.
If it’s a small tear in a muscle or tendon in his hip must be very painful to play with.
I know that hip flexor terrible to have affected. Limits your running and the physio working on it is just about the worst pain I’ve experienced getting treatment on.
Just lower your expectations on him for this year.
He is running at 70% (if that), but if he can just give us a few moments in the Finals it may just help to get us over the line in a game.
We are hardly Richmond, where there are 5 or 6 really strong options for that position.
Our only real depth is Baguley, Begley, Mynott and Houlihan.
Would you pick any of those in front of Fanta in 2 weeks time ?
Yes i would, i would play any one of those over a 70% Fanta.
Can Begley or LAV play fkn well and may be force the coaches not to play this bloke half baked.
Dunno, he did some nice things last week.
Whilst his movement is compromised, his touch looked like it was returning.
Nonetheless, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t out there Week 1.
Just hope he can get a dozen touches and a couple of goals.
I’m not critical of Fantasia. I am critical of the coaching panel for playing him. Fanta is just doing what’s asked of him.
We should have given a kid a run or two rather than persist with Fanta running at 50%
That’s now 5 pies games in a row he has missed.
Put him in a padded room for next 2 weeks.
Moz would have been given a go if fit perhaps
But clearly they don’t feel like anyone else is capable. Raz whilst being hampered is very very smart forward, can still bob up for his goal or two. Knows how to setup in fwd line correctly either as attacking player or decoy to allow others to be dangerous.
Also as a result defenders have to pay him close attention. Doesn’t happen with Begley or others.

You sure it’s 5? I thought he played both games in 2017.
So this would be the 4th.
But it would be gold if we play them in 2 weeks and he starts where he left off against Maynard and we win against them for the first time since 2017
It’s groundhog day. I have to wonder, if we’d sent him out for surgery when he originally got injured would he be a chance to be back fit by now? It’s just seemed pointless playing him every second week for little return.
For mine, if he’s carrying an injury that is impeding his pace then he must be withdrawn now. Get him into the operating theatre asap and stop wrecking his confidence.
We already have too many key players missing or sore to really shake the tree this year, so surely we should be sensible and give the kid a break!
And if he’s planning on leaving then why are we bothering to play him at all? He’s barely able to get on the ground, let alone if his heart’s not in it. Give his place to someone keen.
He ran well against Freo.
I know he’s “injured”, but he was up and down the field extremely well against Freo. I think it’s a mixture of bad form and injury.
He simply has to play in finals
Plot twist: It’s not the injury it’s his form and the role in the team he’s been given.
But in all seriousness, if i were him and the doctors said to me
"look, you can play but you’ll be running at 70% capacity, 80% on a good day. Either we put you through surgery now and the seasons over or we can manage you through the pain and nurse you through the finals campaign "
I’d turn around and tell them to load me up with all the pain killers they could find on planet earth.
I’m sure the club officials would be supporting Fantasias decision to push on as well.
