Hope Lav is OK to go soon - better than 2 or 3 in our backline at the moment…!!

It’s so dire people are craving Laverde back into the side, we’re headed for the No. 1 pick this year.

It just goes to prove, 'ya dunno what you’ve got, β€˜till it’s gone’.

Save us Obi Wan Laverne, you’re our only hope…

Nope, he stays in the VFL all year

Be great to have such a punishing kicker and elite decision maker back in the side.

Yeah I’d get him back in. A message needs to be sent to McKay. You might be on the big dollars, but your efforts are unacceptable. Lav is not a long-term solution, but you need some senior experience down there to support Reid. McKay clearly is not providing anything at all in that regard.

Let’s be honest. He’d be an automatic in if he’d been available as we didn’t have enough height against Fogarty, Thillithorpe and Tex.

Since Scott wouldn’t give Hayes a go.

Easy choice as a replacement for Prior

Lav comes in, has a crack, decent one on one player. Yes he’s a terrible kick but Reid and the other defenders turn it over anyway and don’t win one on ones. He’s also a leader down there, something we are seriously lacking.

I miss him

He is so much better then any other bloke in the backline right now.

He’s also 28 with a failing body on the background of just being AFL standard in his prime.
Given where we are at as a list and a club we would be better off playing the likes of Reid, Hayes, Ridley etc to work out if they’re any good, rather than playing a guy that we know is ok but only going to get worse.

Did you go to the last 2 games and watch our pathetic uncompetitive backline? I don’t care how old a bloke is, I want a team of competitive players. McKay and Reid β– β– β– β–  themselves anytime a ball is in the air within 100 metres of them.

Wowsers. You know thinks are dire when people think Laverde will make us a better team.

Agree McKay should be on notice - but we’d be crazy to not keep pumping games into the kids.

Let’s not fall victim to revisionist history and think Laverde is a solution.

Tank, and tank properly.

(1) no one actually gives a β– β– β– β–  what you want
(2) for the long term on-field success of the club there is absolutely no benefit in playing Laverde, irrespective of how you feel about the rest of the list

Point (1) We are on a public forum buddy. Stop being a little β– β– β– β– β– .
Point (2) Age and skill flaws aside, he brings the one thing this team desperately needsβ€”competitiveness. You can’t teach hunger. If we keep selecting players who go through the motions, we’ll keep getting the same soft results. Competitive edge needs to be the non-negotiable standard for building a stronger future.

Stop arguing and bring the bloke straight IN
