Gives everything he has

He’s actually a pretty good depth player. If he could kick he’d be a pretty good defender.

Fucken love this guy. Gives us his blood and the blood of his enemies

Lav been very solid in a completely undermanned defence since he came back in. Again last night he stood up - most intercept possesions on the ground for us with the 2nd best disposal efficiency + he played 100% game time last night - did not have a break what a warrior…!! He’s a leader down back for us right now love the way he went to Caddy at half time to encourage him. Live Laugh Love Lav

Always has a crack, can never fault effort. Was in everything down back tonight.

He’s the grizzled old veteran defender that every team needs.

Succinct review.

Loved his game. I forgot Hipwood was playing for most of the night (Cameron also, thanks Pidge). I’ve never liked the pile for Lav, he’s all guts

Always hard as but a couple of his marks last night were particularly brave and show he was playing with real confidence……obv doesn’t read Blitz

I will never criticise this guy. He’s been smashing himself for 10 years trying to help the team. Yes, he’s limited, but in a time when a lot of us have said we just want to see effort he delivers that in spades every time he takes the field.

He’s been really solid since he came back in, and brave as always, constantly putting himself in harm’s way.

I didn’t want him anywhere near the seniors with Reid and Hayes fit, but geez he has been a solid mature leader in the backline the past 2 weeks. We are lucky he’s still on the list!

Will be interesting if he will still be on the list next year. If he isn’t would love him to be captain of the reserves and helping the young kids coming through

I like Lav in the side because he’s tough. We have a team full of nice guys, so having Roberts and Lav down back making players earn their kicks makes me happy.

I am hearing the PIes are into him, could be moving.

That’d be a great outcome if we could get something for him.

Judging by the way we snatched May from under the Pies noses, maybe supply and DEMAND factor into our list management these days. Maybe Pies forwards tell the coaches that Lav is a tough bastard to play on.

How did we even get close to Brisbane?

They had at least 5 bona fide A grade players, we had just one, and Laverde holding back the tide, plus a couple of plucky young lads.

We got close because the players bought in and played with commitment.
