#15 Jayden Laverde - π‹π’π―πžπ“›π“ͺ𝓾𝓰𝓱 𝕃𝔸𝕍 (Part 2)

Was a feasting beast tonight, especially early.
Total brick wall. And busted his guts to spoil when he had no right getting near it.

Well done lad

Lost a few contests early on. Then didn’t let them get near it after that.

Still so hard to believe what he’s become out of nowhere really. Gun.

He’s a completely different player in all aspects - confidence and execution and staying uninjured.

Lav is continuing to solidify his spot as a locked in 2nd/3rd tall defender for the next 5 yearsπŸ‘Œ

let’s just take a moment. This guy was a borderline 3rd/4th string forward injury prone banana to date, on the verge of delisting.

he’s turned himself (coachings doing) into probably our most solid defender.

hats off to the coaching staff and the man LAV himself, its been one of the biggest feel good stories of the year

I forgot how good 2015 Hurley was, but when Lav plays like that you get reminders…

The kid loves a challenge. Loves throwing his weight around.

Much more suited to the defender role

Has been consistent this year. It’s not a stretch to say he could be in the 40-man AA squad, imo.

Love his game.

Big, strong, tough and rarely beaten.

What a turnaround.

Genuinely loving seeing his career being reborn from the almost certain scrap heap.

Brings a toughness to the backline that is much needed.

Feeling similar vibes to when Sheeds decided to move Mark Harvey to defence, almost to protect him from himself. Not putting Lav in the Mark Harvey category yet, but Harvs was very injury prone post the β€˜84-β€˜85 flags (plus he had his bulimia disorder as well), but across 1992-93 he was a very courageous, undersized CHB who gave height and weight away to his opponents but made up for that with great reading of the play and his natural bravery in the air.

Think we won All Australian when going back did Harv’s

Like the Mark Harvey comparison

AA CHB 1993, Crichton Medal in β€˜92. His GF performance on Earl Spalding is underrated IMO. Gets lost amongst the brilliance of Longy.
