Big call nifty. Lot cheaper and easier to get laid than play in a GF. At elite level anyway.
Great news. He’s exactly what we need going forward. Really hope that we can turn it around during this time so that he signs again.
So Truck has 1 on board. I know it’s Archie but 1 player not enough. The captain couldn’t explain the game plan last night
One signing doesn’t mean we don’t need an external review. We absolutely do need one if we want to move out of the perpetual 7-14th up and down pattern we are in now.
Happy he’s signed on for a term but hope its not just to buy into truck’s plan. That plan is taking us no where .
Will have great trade value.
I have seen us for the last 60 years.
Did some good things on Saturday even though he only had the 10 or so disposals.
Won two 2v1 contests.
Laid multiple tackles
Great news. Makes sense for two, he would back himself for a big pay rise at the end of the contract. Gonna be a star.
Just like Caldwell going back with the flight, displaying reckless abandon and scant regard for his physical wellbeing, I commend Archie for rolling the dice and being willing to put his career and any chance of seeing future football success at the professional level at such risk at such a young age.
Club was holding out for a 3 year deal, but the PR team needed a positive story after the cluster of the Sydney game, so here we are
I reckon there will be success at some stage for Archie.
We have Avery talented young core and will add to it again during the draft/trade. Yes, things are ■■■■■■■ ■■■■ now, but as it’s never as good as it seems , never as bad as it seems.
We have lots to sort out but it can be done. Need a good run with injuries at some point!
The only reason I can see for him to sign on is because I think he thinks he can be our next superstar and lead us out of the mire and become a legend, rather than go to another team and have to be second fiddle on a great team, he can be the boss on ours, coz he is, and most of our list sucks
Fark there’s a bit of deadwood there.
You’d resign Langford, Cox, Reid, Baldwin, Tippa if fit and probably Wanga. McGrath is our best trade bait.
The rest are whatever. They will not help us win any games next year and won’t be part of a premiership.
The use of a hyphen is very important!
I think some on here look through rose coloured glasses at our young guys.
I thought he got beaten in 50/50 one on ones a few times, and also failed to win possession a couple of times where he started with an advantage. (I only saw the first 3 quarters).
Winning one on ones is a good measure of your ability in my view. Martin for example is really good. I still have doubts whether Perkins is going to be a really good player, or just ok.
It’s disturbing how we haven’t given Perkins more than a handful of token centre bounce attendances when we have 29yo Shiel who is sent in for every centre bounce available despite us being in a development phase and the later being a poor example of the way we supposedly want to play
Hopefully he demanded at least 10 CBAs per game to sign on with this rabble.
I think it’s more to do with how depleted our forward line has been.
Jones tippa Snelling and Langford have combined for about 45 mins of football this season.
Can throw stringer in there to a degree too
He’s getting a much better defender given how depleted our fwd line is.
He’s also getting “Parished”, plays half forward on the weekend but at training match sim due to injuries he’s put on the second team to do all the defensive mid stuff. Not getting the best opportunity to work on his craft at the position he’s playing.
Positive is that it’s streamlining his midfield ability especially defensively. Maybe it’s the hair and similar build but physically he looks a bit like Steele. We haven’t seen what he can do on the inside but potentially next year he could bring a bit of size to our midfield.
Do they turn the sprinklers on for all games? Or is it just the games against us? Wouldn’t surprise me if they turn them on just for us as they know how ■■■■ we are at wet weather footy
