I genuinely laughed at that too.

If we aren’t careful he’ll become Will Hayward.

Will Hayward is a bloody good player.

Average

If he is going to be a midfielder, he needs to put on a lot of size of the summer. He just isn’t big enough imo.

Distinct lack of pace!

That’s not true.

It is true. He is ok over a few meters, but slow over 20m.

Is not a midfielder, yet.

He’s rarely in there, it’s time he had a full month in there IMO.

In the twos, sure.

He’s nowhere near aggressive or urgent enough yet to throw him in there in the seniors.

When Langford String and Snell are back he can go develop in the twos.

It’s okay for him to not be midfield ready yet too

No one is learning in our 2s, just throw him in, we are still way too conservative, Sam Mitchell has already given Ward and McDonald way more midfield time in their 1st 8 games than Perkins has had in 2 years.

No chance now I reckon. Truck is coaching for his job so don’t reckon he wants to play the young fellas. He is relying on the likes of Shiel to Save his job😆. He might be surprised by playing Hobbs and Archie more in the middle but it’s the same old story.

I’ll bite.
Port have also started to rotate Butters and Rozee. So there’s some merit.

But I’ve got Perkins a light year behind Caldwell and even Hobbs having regular midfield time.

And that’s before Langford Snelling and Stringer are back

That’s true, probably see Stewart replace Reid soon as well

Look it probably doesn’t need to be as much as I’m saying but he should be getting more than he is now.

We do need a mix though. Caldwell and Hobbs are gonna offer sweet FA aerially around the ground. Perkins will help as an outlet kick if he gets given midfield time.

He’ll add more in the air, true.

Merrett McGrath Parish Shiel Stringer Langford Snelling Caldwell Hobbs Perkins

That’s more than enough to be fair.

I think he will end up being a mid or more of a mid, just don’t think he’s close to being ready for that yet.

Having said that, throwing him on assignment in bursts, especially as we are done for this year will be good for his development.
