And are you honestly saying Adrian had no input into trading out of 3 consecutive drafts including the 2018 “Super draft” because the club stupidly felt that we were only a couple of pieces away from winning a flag?
The trouble with this club is that we have always seeked the quick fix and never stayed the course of a proper rebuild.
We had a great chance to hit the draft hard and blew it

I’ve said many times whoever was pushing to never rebuild should be fired. But that I would hope a decision of that magnitude was made at the C-suite and board level.
I really don’t get the point of piling in on one (young) player after yesterday.
Clearly the issues at our club are incredibly deep.

You are also aware that we are allowed to trade up picks or trade out picks to the following years?
I still maintain that 2020 we should have only used 2 picks and traded the third one out.
Choose 2 of Cox/Reid/Perkins and tried to send the third one to the 2021 draft.
Similar to my feelings this year in that I’m not keeping this years first but rather trying to get into next years first round

It’s simply amazing how these other clubs can manage to do it though isn’t it.

Sure. Which we did with Jones.
But that is an expensive exercise and if you’ve gone the EFC incremental improvements approach then you don’t really have the excess picks to do that. Top 5 picks cost a lot GWS spent, what about a first and several seconds/players to move from ~pick 8 to pick 2 in 2016.

Or, you know, the 2021 draft was seen as a super draft while 2020 was COVID affected.
It’s just not that year.
We seem to be so far behind the curveball when it comes to pick trading, salary dumps etc but sure you keep defending the bloke who would fall into a bucket of nipples and come out sucking his thumb

He was on track to win our B&F in 2020 as a midfielder, and was going strong in 2021 before injury. Since 2021 he’s played back for list balance. So, the last two years he played as a mid he was tracking very well.
Okay his played what , 50 games? Anyways, I havent said much about him. But he is another spud we can add to our shiny collection of mcspuds
