Fyfe was a stick when he first started, but the signs were there. Of course he isn’t the size of ‘modern day Fyfe’.
In fact Perkins is probably 5+ kilos bigger than Fyfe was when he was drafted.

I agree that’s he’s similar to Fyfe.
From memory @THE_DON1 compared him to McCluggage, prior to the draft.
I think he’s a lot better over head than McCluggage, from the little bits I’ve seen.

I might prefer 25 in the 2s if it means he can more quickly transition to 25 in the 1s.

Can see some one like Gleeson get a game over Perkins
seeing they play completely different positions and we have a severe shortage of tall defenders I’d say Gleeson is probably likely to get a run.

WWSD? I dunno, but Gary O’Donnell played a lots of games in the 2s, while others were exposed much earlier. I think Shreds would have worked out what he wanted from the player, and then worked out a way to get there in the quickest fashion. If that was via 2s midfield time, that’s the answer. If that was via a forward flank in the ones, then that’s the answer.
In all likelihood the answer is a couple of games in the ones at the start of the year, and then, pending results, a chunk of midfield time in the 2s

Well, I remember watching Mark Mercuri in the seconds in drenching rain out at VFL park against the hawks I think, in 1992. That year, he made his debut in round 10 and played 3 games.

Sheeds would debut him on Anzac Day.
How was his pressure, tackling, defensive ability? No matter what position he plays when he comes into the ones aligning to our structure and defending are nonnegotiable. Can’t just rely on possessions and the pretty stuff.

Yep me to! I cannot understand how supporters can write a young player of after 20 mins! This is even worse when you consider they not played for 18 months and it was a first run at a new higher standard! Imagine your first day on the job after 18 months and then having something unexpected thrown at you. Most would not cope well!
