Archie Perkins belly button is actually a power outlet

Will pay that.

Shiel might have in 2017 except for a certain three strikes and you’re OK Richmond captain

(OK probably not, but add that to the fake Brownlow- it’s about time Karma caught up with some players)

Enlighten us on the problematic personal beliefs of Gary ablett junior.

feel like he is the type of plyer that flourishes on the big stage

he isn’t a pure mid.

Are you pure?

Jason Johnson kicked 100+ goals in his career

We drafted Mynott as that type but we barely gave him a shot.

7 from 17 in 2018 & 9 from 19 in 2019

I didn’t mind him, but I wouldn’t have described him as goal kicking, on displayed form. He had a few tricks, but not sure a guy his size & pace would’ve translated it.

How specific are we when we describe drafting a goal kicking mid because that was exactly what he was when he was drafted. Langford wasn’t a midfielder yet so he doesn’t really fit the bill either as a drafted goal kicking mid

I’m not fussed what positions guys played in juniors.

Mynott showed a little bit as a grunty mid, and (IMHO) not very much when he went forward.

I still wonder if something else was going on with him. He looked really promising, and we wouldn’t give him a shot at all.

Underrated player indeed, but still I can only think of Hird and Mercuri as our last mids that kicked more goals than games played. Most teams have one goal a game mid, but we’ve been bereft of them for an eternity now it seems like.

You can add Caracella & Lovett to that list in recent times.
Also Tyson Slattery if that’s how you’re rating players.

I’d be impressed if you could name more than half a dozen?

Martin, Danger, De Goey…
erm…

Robbie Gray’s a bit past it now.

Bontempelli’s only gone at a goal a game twice in seven years, so he’s not in that club.

Yep, 15 goals a year from a proper midfielding midfielder is excellent. One per game is elite and anything more is rare or in the Ablett/Martin generational types.

I’d classify elite midfielders as players averaging 25 disposal plus. DeGoey and Bontempelli spend too much time in their shallow forwardlines to maintain their possession counts above that number.

Danger and Fyfe both average >25dis but just under a goal a game.

Martin is at Ablett levels of freakishness. With Ablett getting higher possessions and Martin having more impact with less, they both average elite disposal numbers and easily >1 goal (both averaging 2 scores a game)

Interestingly the Brownlow is almost always claimed by a midfielder who get high 20s+ and average ~1.5 scores per game for the season. Priddis (Fyfe disqualified) and Titch (averaged 35 disposals) are the only real exceptions.

2020 - Neale - 0.7 goal, 0.7 behind, 27 disp
2019 - Fyfe - 0.8 goal, 0.7 behind, 29 disp
2018 - Titch - 0.5 goals, 0.4 behind, 35 disp
2017 - Martin - 1.5 goals, 1.2 behind, 30 disposals
2016 - Dangerfield - 1.1 goals, 1 behind, 31.7 disposals
2015 - Fyfe - 0.8 goal, 0.7 behind, 28.8 disp
2014 - Priddis - 0.5 goal, 0.4 behind, 28.5 disposal *
- (Fyfe ineligible=1.2g, 0.5 b, 27d)

2013 - GABlett - 1.3 goals, 1.1 behinds, 31.2 disp
2012 - Watson - 0.9 goals, 0.5 behinds, 29 disp
2011 - Swan - 1.3 goals, 1.1 behinds, 31.7 disp
2010 - Judd - 0.7 goals, 0.6 behinds, 27 disp
2009 - GABlett - 1.2 goals, 1.2 behinds, 34 disposal

also, Swanny was underrated too bad he was a piece of filth

Both Mercuri and Hird spent long periods stationed in the forward line…
