There’s definitely a lot of attempts to dodge the football department cap.

Blake was shifted out to VFL coach to give some breathing room to get a few more specialist / assistant coaches on board.
Goldy was brought on to be player / ruck coach, but we’re using a list spot and salary cap to pay him.
Can any training watchers (@All-Star_Bomber_18?) say whether Mark Jamar has been present through the year? I think he’s still considered a ‘ruck coach’ but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been shifted into the AFLW program.

I don’t think it even matters anymore whether a player is on the senior list or rookie list so there’s no benefit shifting Goldy to that list.
If whatever strain is on football department spending has been minimised, I expect Goldy to officially be named the specialist ruck coach and cease training with the group. If not, he’ll just remain on the list and still be a specialist coach while training (he has to do that to use up the ‘players salary cap’ side of things. GWS did a similar thing through his career with Sam Reid.

Draper - because he’s our best ruck
Bryan - because he’s our 2nd best ruck and now commands game time
Wright - because he can go forward AND is not 36
Cox - His relief ruck work was impressive this year
Vigo - If the above four are somehow unavailable I would still prefer Vigo than wasting a list spot on Goldstein

For all the people who just want people delisted and paid out we don’t have any draft picks, if we drop these guys now we will be taking pick 104 and giving them two year standard contracts

Some people are going overboard, for sure. I’d rather take on pick 60 and a rookie than Goldy and Kelly though.

List positions are super important. I don’t believe we should keep someone on purely as a back up.
