#2 Big Sammy Draper (from May 2024)

The face of the club marketing wise takes a toll.
It was Heppell then Daniher then walla then Stringer now probably Draper.

Sammy would be a good fit for Sydney.

I hope he stays.

What do you mean by that?

His career summary is a hot and cold player who is repeatedly injured.

I’m sure we can cover him ok.

Really? I’d have thought Grundy took the Sydney gig with first ruck promise.

His best fit is Adelaide and is where he will go if he leaves IMHO.

Lesser chance Brisbane

Then it’s the board, and Vozzo.

Tend to agree on the board, not Vozzo. He has inherited a ā– ā– ā– ā–  sandwich just like Rosa did from Dodoro.

Honest question - who was a better ruck duo for us this year: Bryan and Draper or Goldstein and Wright

In my opinion and that’s just it.
Our biggest problem are the soft leaders of the club with big bottom lips

Stringer and Hind going was meant to be setting a standard hasnt worked so more players need be shown the door the message aint getting through it seems

I reckon he fits into the ruck/ forward role ok for them.

Also will bring in the crowds, which is important to them.

There’s always the steak knives option to sweeten two first rounders. Blakiston or Guelfi come to mind.

I think Draper was looking strong and fit this year so I think he and 2MP would probably be the best combination possible if they were all fit. And that combo would have allowed Draper to ruck more than he was with Bryan.

But yeah I dunno when comparing those two combos you mentioned. I have respect for Goldy but he’s half dead so I find it hard to get excited watching him play even though he’s probably gone ok at times lol

They can always trade these picks for future ones or for ready made players. They don’t have to use them.

Straight swap for Reilly O’Brien.

Yeah…Nah.

If he does leave he may save us from the two ruck scenarios that Brad loves to use

How many times does this group of players need to be told that they are actually in control of their own ā€˜happiness’…if that’s the right word. I mean they really need to stop feeling sorry for themselves and drink a few glasses of harden the fark up.

It’s not about being happy to see him leave, it’s about firmly doing what’s best for the club, something we haven’t done for a long long time.

With Vigo and Bryan at the club, the best thing for us is absolutely getting a first round pick for Draper.

We already have 2 early picks in a thin draft. Unless we can turn Draper’s end of round pick into a good trade target I don’t see the value.

Could trade it for an extra pick in the 2026 draft
