#2 Big Sammy Draper (from May 2024)

Not true. Have you seen the way he was moving on crutches? Never better.

you dont want anyone with loyalty near the club? trying to achieve something with the guys he has grown up with instead of chasing a bought premiership that would mean nothing?

Pick purchasing would help give the bottom dwelling clubs and a few of the middling ones, like us, a serious leg up in rebuilding.

I could also give those at the top more avenues to stay on top

His sole contribution to the club is marketing.

how has he ever made us better?

I much prefer a desire and drive to win over loyalty. You have success and loyalty will come. Loyalty without a drive to win maybe toxic for the group.

Do more peeps on here drink tradies?
Hes a ruckman with a mullet who jokes around on the footy field to the comparison of Joe Daniher. Equally frustrating for any supporter.
But what to do? Grab a compo pick & player from Lions? Player swaps with Crows or enter a 3 way that we can trade out one of our other frustrating players for someone better?
And then figure out how to trade out the coach.

He’s a UFA. There will be no trade. He’ll either stay or join a new club of his choice.

Goldy isnt going around again.

Brad can be very persuasive

i wouldnt want someone who wants a cheats premiership, shows they are not ready for hard work and want to profit of someone elses success

Pretty sure footballers don’t care whether they have contributed to a rebuild or not.

If he leaves for cash, the talk of him as ‘heart and soul of the club’ will be as meaningful as a Trump media conference.

What does that even mean cheat their way to a flag ?
Does that work both ways if we get through a successful rebuild and then bring in players via free agency to fill spots then win it is that cheating ?

Essington has been doing this for so long, they don’t know what the ■■■■ they’re doing.

Have a read of the forum. I’d say they do.

Ugh. Novelty beers. GAGF.

Tradie, Travla, Better. All complete ■■■■■■■ swill. Gross.

What does this even mean?

Counter point. Yes he is.

ESSENDON veteran Todd Goldstein is keen to play on into a 20th season next year, having made a remarkable return to the senior fold in recent weeks.

Just hitting his prime.

Seriously though, it’s enough to let Draper walk.

That is a very odd take

Let him go. Injury prone at Essendon and a huge risk coming off an Achilles injury. Probably will go alright at Brisbane. But If we can get a R1 compo pick for him, we’d be mad not to let him walk. We have Bryan, Vigo, Rodd Toddstein and India Versus Blakistan. 3 R1s and 2 R2s plus academy kids puts us in a strong end of 2025 position.
