I would give Draper first 10-15 minutes spell take heat out of match.
then draper have a rest on the bench and Bryan to take over ruck duties and then after a breather Draper back on up forward.

So weāre going to give a sometimes brilliant but more often than not average and injury prone player a massive extension and miss out on. Another top end pick before the devils come in.
There is no way this will go wrong
He could play over 100 + more good games, heās one of our better players and there is a reason other teams are chasing him. Heās not irreplaceable but itās definitely going to be a short term loss if we lose him, may even be a long term loss depending on who we replace him with.

Yes, I understand itās the Draper thread so itās confusing.
Draper is obviously a player we want to keep.
Ultimately, it comes down to $$$ and length of term.
If we donāt see value in paying him 1m x 5 or 6 years, then we take the Band 1 Compo.
Personally think he will accept less to stay with us.
Seems like he is appreciative of the start we gave him.

Agree. I think Draper is a very loyal guy who loves the club. He often mentions how grateful he is for being given the opportunity to play AFL

and actually did the right thing to soccer that last Kako kick through, the bounce could of easily seen that hit the post. (Kako actually said it was touched off the boot)

Ok, seriously though, canāt see how EFC is better off without him in 2025. Guy had enough talent that any half decent coaching panel should be able to fit him into a system.
But, weāre not winning a flag whilst Stringer Is contributing. So whilst we got FA for him, itās about opportunity for those who will be in our forward line for a 2027 tilt. Plus, exiting some bad attitude bears stuff is a bonus.

Feeling a little vindicated in my Draper faith, even with training wheels always obvious he had something your average AFL rucks do not. Has come back looking like an athletic adult man, weāre giving him 6 years and Goldy has probably already had a big influence on him as regards longevity in the game and building on your strengths. 12 years wouldāve been more appropriateš
Heās a great footballer, GWS are the beneficiaries.
But seriously, this is completely illogical. No one on here is happy to be in a perpetual rebuild. But most, would quite reasonably deduce, that right now our list is a long way from being a contender, therefore right now, a rebuild is definitely necessary.
Our forward structure was ā ā ā ā with him in. We may not be better without him in 2025, but we are better without him longer term. No question.
Comparing us to Geelong when we havenāt been close to them or their list position in 20 years is not constructive.
Anyway, not sure why this is in the Draper thread. So hereās hoping for many more crashed packs in 2025.

He has so much going for him athletically, and he is beginning to work opponents over with his strength.
He must make some smarter decisions with the ball when he gets it 55-65 out.
The dumb scrappy kicks forward hurt us time, and time again, particularly when there are team mates running for HB receives.
Leaders need to speak to him about it.

We should push him out the door as a free agent.
Heāll have his good moments but heāll also have those moments where he ignores mic Martin and instead goes it himself and kicks it out on the full.
