2015 Fixture

To be released Thursday October 30th. Usually get bits of the fixture leading into the full fixture release.

I find our fixture generally tends to be pretty fixed throughout the year. Pencil in Carlton (Round 3) and Collingwood (Round 5 ish) in the first 5-6 weeks and return games later in season against both and Richmond.

Being an interstate traveller for matches I'd ideally like:

Gold Coast at Metricon

GWS at Spotless Stadium

Brisbane at the Gabba

West Coast in Subiaco

Adelaide at AO

We'll most likely will get a double in NSW, WA or SA. Hopefully no Thursday nights interstate either.

Please no home game against Melbourne at the MCG.

Our 2014 season should hopefully have us with more prime time games than average time slots which is great. Hopefully clubs like North get harder draws rather than the simple draw they get each year.

Thoroughly enjoying the break from football but fixture time has always been like Christmas to me! Can't wait to plan my 2015 travels.

What are people's thoughts and wants on the fixture for next year?

As long as Collingwood dont get a soft draw and travel more than 5 times, I’m happy.

I want Port Adelaide at the G for round 1. Would happily make my way to Sydney for that game.

Doesn't matter where we play Port, as long as I can boo urns Paddy all game.

That we get to participate in it.  With a full team and Hirdy as coach.

Port offers Round 1 in Adelaide. The AFL agrees.

Suck it up.

Do you think I'll be expelled if I make a judas banner for the port game?

Won't matter, the cheer squad will have 'JUDAS!!!' on the banner

We are going to get bent over in next years fixture…

port at home please!

The G is in Melbourne bro

I'm hoping the teams we play twice are the Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, Carlton, GWS, and St. Kilda.

If the system is the same as this year that’s not possible I don’t think.

We’re in the middle 6 (7 to 12). Don’t they give us 2 double ups from our own group, 1 from the top 6, 1 from the bottom 6 and one random one.

On that basis I’d guess we’ll get, Collingwood, Carlton, Port, Richmond and St Kilda or Bulldogs

We gotta play Tigers twice every year don't we?

Essendon at Metricon and The Gabba please with Gabba on Friday night… After work beers at The Norman then walk down to the ground. German Club after the game… PERFECT!!

That is our actual draw.

No joke.

Rest is TBA.

It will be interesting to see what games (who, when and where and who the tv broadcaster is) for our first few rounds.
If we are scheduled for ‘prime-time’ games then you would think that the AFL is expecting our team to be OK i.e. the AFL aren’t going to risk us not having a team or having to play a “VFL” team which would put the spotlight right on the AFL and its drug cheating culture during prime-time.
Edit: Actually the more I think about it. I can actually see the AFL and CH7 with the ghoulish idea of promoting the 'depleted" Essendon team as a novelty event. It will probably end up being a ratings bonanza.
