That draw will hurt us financially. 1 Thursday Game, 2 Friday Games and 1 Saturday game - only 4 in prime time ratings. Only 3 home games against teams that will draw big crowds - Dreamtime, Country Game and Hawks, which got put at Etihad.
Home games…
Melbourne MCG
Geelong MCG
Kangaroos Etihad
Richmond MCG
Hawthorn Etihad
GWS Etihad
Saints Etihad
Brisbane Etihad
Gold Coast Etihad
Bulldogs Etihad
Carlton MCG
Reckon our gate takings are going to be down a bit.
To put the whinging into context. We play interstate 6 times. The fewest is 5.Nth play interstate 8 times, have 8 six day breaks and play Hawthorn, Sydney, Adelaide and the Bulldogs twice.
I’d hate to see the wrist slashing on here if we had that draw.
norf sell there home games, that doesn’t count in my eyes. They finished top 6 they should expect more games against the top 8. we had 3 repeat games against finalists last year after finishing 8th.

Interstate games because you’re too poor to play home games at home don’t count.
We seem to play our worst in Sunday games against nobody teams in front of 28k
I’m looking forward to about 5 wins this year.

I agree last year’s draw was bad.
However from a football perspective you cannot get a softer draw than what we have based on results from 2015.
meh.

As long as we can pick up Ainsworth and Petrevski-Seton in next year’s draft, I’m willing to ride that out.
Stupid week off before finals!!
The Round 23 fixture is normally a soft round anyway feeling like its a week off footy!
That's nice of Fremantle to finally come and play us here again
Ummm…hate to tell you, but…
When you are crap. You look at the fixture and think all the teams from last year who finished above you will beat you and all the teams who finished below you are danger games that you could drop.
When you are good, you factor in you’ll probably drop one of the Perth games and maybe the Hawthorn game but should win the rest.
That’s how my brain works anyway.
I work Saturday / Sunday Daytime and I was selfishly hoping for more night games but I guess they are the domain of the better performing teams. I see this as a cracking draw for us and if we get off to a flying start we will be pretty much travelling under the radar so to speak.
Are we going to report the AFL for rape?
I can see Gil’s hand in this. Bottom 4 team, should not be made to play top 3 of the top 4 teams at their home ground.
This is molestation.
Do we ever play Swans in Melbourne?I think it's now 18 of the last 19 years playing Sydney in Sydney. The sole exception was when we were used to prop up the home debut of GWS instead.
The comments about how bad the draw is is embarrassing. People complaining we don’t play Syney, Port, Freo twice FFS. why would you want to play them twice? It’s like a nerd looking for a beating from the local tough guy. It won’t end well.
And why all the grizzling about the Melbourne Games? We should be able to beat them every year. The fact it’s not guaranteed is our sub par performances against lower teams.
So why don’t we get some good form against these lower teams and then you can all cry about not playing the big boys twice?
I personally don't mind our fixture but reckon the club will be disappointed. I reckon our crowd figure will drop significantly with so many games at 3:20 and 4:40.Very ordinary times when you have young families.
But it works for me.
I can see how this would be bad for some familys but its great for me, my 3 and 5 year olds just can’t go to the nighttime games, they are asleep for it all if we do. Now with all these day games they can go to the game and then go home for bed, meaning we can actually buy a family membership this year for the first time ever and all go! I am super pumped! I personally don’t like day games, but i’m happy to take it on the chin to go with my kiddies.
Maybe not your kids, but many including my nephews have been convinced by their peers to ditch the drug cheats for a more respectable team, so no biggy…
Personally i think Sunday twighlight sucks the biggest possible ■■■■.
Two Friday night games? For the highest television rating club in the comp? This is a ■■■■■■■ joke.
Nine Sunday games???
I think it’s pretty well established the AFL likes shooting itself in the foot. That sometimes cancels their quest for money and eyeballs.
3 night games?
Twilight games are ■■■■, particularly Sunday arvo for attendance. They throw our your whole day, in terms of doing other things, family events, dinner, awkward getting home time and more often than not I can’t be arsed getting off the couch as it is the flat time (re nap time) of my weekend.
Bit disappointing on the FTA side, thought we were a top drawing TV side. I don’t mind going to the local to watch on pay TV but that is alot of pots & parmas.
The draw itself is pretty good for us overall as a team aspiring to push back up the ladder. Don’t fear the travel as much as we used too.
