That's nice of Fremantle to finally come and play us here againUmmm…hate to tell you, but…
Yep…becoming ridiculous now

medium to tough draw for finishing 4th last IMO.
i call 11-12 wins at best.
It very much proves that we are still the dogshit on the underside of the AFL's shoes. If the AFL is suggesting we have less Ch7 games due to our ladder position then we must also get a soft draw. A soft draw does not include more interstate games than any other team. Above all they are prepared to cut off their nose to spite their face by having only 10 Ch7 games to one of the top 2 clubs from an audience perspective. From an EFC membership perspective, it’s very ordinary as well. Most people with a family will struggle with the Sunday late timeslot. It’s certainly the case for my family. Pretty disappointing. overall.
Totally agree from a family perspective the twilight Sunday games time slot really sucks if you are trying to watch the game / help with kids homework / dinner etc
Upside of 2015 season was that most of our twilight games weren’t worth watching after 1/4 time anyway !!
5 sunday twilight fixtures - fark off
Bunch of ■■■■■ the afl are. Worst match time ever, although I will not be here for most of next year’s season, but FFS.
Sunday/sunday twilight games are great for me vis-a-vis umpiring Saturdays! Sweet.
To play devil’s advocate, perhaps we get Sunday twilight because nobody else would draw flies in that time slot.
I personally don't mind our fixture but reckon the club will be disappointed. I reckon our crowd figure will drop significantly with so many games at 3:20 and 4:40.Very ordinary times when you have young families.
But it works for me.
I can see how this would be bad for some familys but its great for me, my 3 and 5 year olds just can’t go to the nighttime games, they are asleep for it all if we do. Now with all these day games they can go to the game and then go home for bed, meaning we can actually buy a family membership this year for the first time ever and all go! I am super pumped! I personally don’t like day games, but i’m happy to take it on the chin to go with my kiddies.
Maybe not your kids, but many including my nephews have been convinced by their peers to ditch the drug cheats for a more respectable team, so no biggy…
Personally i think Sunday twighlight sucks the biggest possible ■■■■.
oh no
We seem to play our worst in Sunday games against nobody teams in front of 28k I'm looking forward to about 5 wins this year.
All those Sunday games, plus ho wmany others?
medium to tough draw for finishing 4th last IMO. i call 11-12 wins at best.Tend to agree, unless there are medium to long term injuries to Hooker and/or Hurley in which case its Armageddon.
To put the whinging into context. We play interstate 6 times. The fewest is 5.Nth play interstate 8 times, have 8 six day breaks and play Hawthorn, Sydney, Adelaide and the Bulldogs twice.
I’d hate to see the wrist slashing on here if we had that draw.
When was the last time Melbourne hosted us? Seems like it's our home game every year
It’s a deal relating to the clash jumper I believe, that’s how long the fixturing of this match had been going on. My understanding is we did a deal to prevent us wearing the clash jumper, the deal being we’d be the home team (hence no requirement for clash jumper) but the trade off was the match would be at the MCG (Melbourne’s home ground). Personally, I don’t like it, would much prefer playing Hawks at the G & Melb at Etihad but then again, what would I know?
Good teams don't whinge about the draw.Which I guess is why we’re whinging
Fair points all round on venues/timeslots in terms of attendance but. Whinge away.

Yep, 3 years of bad press could affect a generation of potential supporters from what i hear. I'm in Brisbane and my boy isn't at school yet so thankfully he still waves the red and black.I personally don't mind our fixture but reckon the club will be disappointed. It’s more to do with the BS equalization. Something like they have to play either one of Essendon or Collingwood at home once a year.
We finished 15th of 18 this year. Wooden Spoon ‘Winner’ Carlton is the only Victorian based club to finish lower than us. We lost 16 games this season. We had a terrible season and that is why we have so many Sunday twilight games.
Stop thinking its a conspiracy against us.
for comparisons sake -pies play sydeny, lions, eagle, giants and crows away. - 5 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
blues play, suns, freo, giants, lions, swans - 5 interstate 1 perth 0 adelaide
saints play port eagles crows GC - 4 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
dees play GC eagles sydney port (excluding their darwin home match) - 4 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
cats play giants port crows freo lions - 5 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
norf play lions gc sydney crows eagles (excluding their tassie home match) - 5 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
tigers play eagles freo port giants syndey - 5 interstate 2 perth 1 adelaide
hawks play lions giants port sydney eagles - 5 interstate 1 perth 1 adelaide
dogs play giants port sydney freo - 4 interstate 1 perth 0 adelaide
if you were under any illusion that we get a fair go in this draft i hope i just destroyed it.
First off, thanks for taking the time to write that up -much appreciated, it would of taken a lot of work. Second I kind of wish you hadn’t because that list really ■■■■■■ me off.
How in the hell do the dogs play interstate only 4 times when they are a top 8 side?!?!?! The AFL could of at least made it a bit less obvious that they want the dogs to be a top team
How the hell do Hawthorn only travel 5 times(one of those being brisbane who are garbage) when they have won 3 straight flags.
The fixture reads like we are a bottom 4 team… oh wait…Sunday ■■■■■■ Sunday.
Every year my opinion is the same. We got reamed. So did a few other clubs because the concept of the “draw” is laughable.
If we considered ourselves anything sort of a “professional” “competition” worth comparing ourselves to any other sports around the world we would be playing either 17 or (preferably) 34 matches per team. Anything else is just arguing about the rules of a fantasy land.
Boring as batshit draw, only a handful of games to actually get excited about. All the hardest road trips. Strategic 6 day breaks. Absolute joke.
