2020 round 4 vs Fark Carlton - here’s the team

IIRC He said the list was OK when he took the job on
It was Dimma that said it needed gutting & starting again

It’s interesting because he then proceeded to gut the list.

Maybe he just thought the kids were high quality. Who knows.

yeh I dont agree with that. Play your stars till they are run into the ground and cant go on no more.
Especially in the era where veterans salaries were 50% excluded from the salary cap.

For starters Lucas had another year in him.
Lloyd was played out of position - he should have made Neagle earn it, and get fit at CHF or FP.
If Knights played through Lloyd properly he may have got to 1000 goals, and that would have been something to celebrate for the club.

Club believed Neagle and Gumbleton were going to magically make it, should have been made to work for it.

I don’t disagree with that but we weren’t going to progress with Lloyd and Lucas when you consider the last flag they achieved prior to Knights arriving was 8 years.

Knights wanted them to play a different role and they were undermining him. Who knows if that’s accurate but if it is then he had to make a call for the club to progress.

Yep.

It’s crazy because the night before all the major media outlets were going with Hardwick as the new coach right up until the announcement the next morning and then Knights was appointed and I was like “your kidding we hired our reserves coach” who’s VFL record at the time with our team wasn’t flash

I’m just reading this rehashing of coaching history at Essendon and thinking, thank Christ I don’t have to wade through this ■■■■■ on FarkCarlton’s fan site.
Go Bombers

Because of the content, or the blue font and background?

Well, they put up with their footy club in general, so they are very experienced at putting up with things.

Im starting to get bloody annoyed by my predictions for mediocrity being rubbed in the dirt so far.

Ham Cutler

They were apparently close to bringing him in versus Dees

I still think when we come up against a team with a gun kpf fwd that needs the glove treatment he may get the call up

At this stage as others have said though our game is pressure upfield and intercept the long high balls. Tigers 101

Out of interest, who would you classify as this right now in the comp?

And which of these could Hooker not deal with?

On their current stance, barring injuries you kind of have to look at teams who play three tall forwards for him to have a chance. Maybe like a GWS, West Coast or St Kilda.

In any event, a belting normally brings about changes and opportunities. I’d be happy to avoid that though!!

I’m feeling fairly positive about this game. Not 100% positive, but enough to be nervous about the outcome. Hoping not to feel negative on Sunday.

Forward pressure has been a hallmark of Essendon’s game this season, with the Bombers ranking third for average tackles inside 50 to the Blues’ 18th.

This makes me happy

Going by that stat our defence shouldn’t have an issue getting the ball out.

The AwFuL website has crashed again. What was the answer, for us?

Good we’re having a hit out.
Though Cal must be catching that pesky “communications specialists “ disease- “Essendon chose not to have a scratch match in Round 2”

I understood it was clear we weren’t allowed to have one by the AFL, due to COVID-19 staffing number restrictions.

Yes, and who cares about the rest?

A conjoined Port/Freo side playing a scratch match?

Farking hope we never sign up for that.
