2021 Grand Final - Melbourne vs Footscray

An extra week for communication specialists to speculate and pass their opinions off as “news.”

The League have diluted Melbourne’s advantage, which they earned from finishing Top 4.
Of course, they wouldn’t have known before making the decision that the Bulldogs would make it thru.

They have also increased the risk of an outbreak affecting the game.

You’re doing a lot more than that. You’re observing events that have a perfectly obvious cause and presuming that that’s all just fake and there’s a corrupt conspiracy underneath.

Is it really all that surprising that the two teams that spent most of the year in the top two positions on the ladder should be facing off in the Grand Final? Is it really all that surprising that Geelong, with an ageing team who have been beaten year after year in the finals by younger teams playing with greater intensity, and who were apparently also struck by some illness as well, were beaten this year by just such a team? I’m a little surprised that Port, who were playing at home where they usually play well, should have been beaten to comprehensively, but it’s happened before this season.

I’m sure you’ve heard of Ockham’s Razor. Use it.

I dont mind the week off and the build up to it.

It’s two weeks off really. We don’t need to wait that long, the bye weekend just drags it out for no reason.

Yeah you’d have to say the bye is much better for Footscray than it is for Melbourne. Let’s them rest up etc. and on the flipside Melbourne will have played 1 game in 3 weeks which I doubt they’d be thrilled with.

It’s absolutely mad they are having the week off.

Who knows what might happen with Covid in WA in two weeks? You’d like to think it will be ok, but what if it’s not? What if there is an outbreak?

Surely if conditions are good they should just finish the season as soon as possible.

Which side would you support @westozziebomber ?

Imagine if Hird had left Essendon in 2001 to play for Carlton and then captain and coach them to a few flags. That’s what good old Ronald Dale did and ripped the heart and soul out of Melbourne who have never recovered. I hope they win for Neale Daniher and Hibberd.

The Great Wall of McGowan will protect them for decades, if not until they finally secede. Don’t stress.

Did you see our surplus from the other day?

Oh boy…

We literally could and probably will excavate a moat along the border and fill it with a combination of molten gold, iron ore and rare earths to keep the rest of you infected bums out permanently once the secession takes place.

He’s too smart for that. It’s surprising he still bothers to post on here and enlighten us dumbarses with his amazing intellect.

I’m a little disappointed Sydney aren’t playing. Had my scarf ready to go and everything.

Sorry @westozziebomber two of my nephews are Doggies members, but their three barcodes are spoken for by my sister and her hubby, and me if the price is reasonable. By good luck rather than good planning, they happened to be touring in WA and are currently just north of Geraldton. I personally wasn’t going to go as I don’t really care about either team, but if my sister and B-I-L are going I’ll tag along.

It will/should be a great game.

The greatest.

Unlike all the previous deficits we bailed you out on?
Typical Sydney supporter- one fluke result and you reckon you’re the greatest.

Ps or we’ll send in the troops.

Having witnessed a Bulldogs premiership live quite recently, I’d rather not see another one if it can be helped. Having said that, it will be worth the risk.

Needs to be a bye so Gil and his mates can self quarantine in a posh hotel for 14 days and attend the grand final.

To see him happy is the only reason I’d prefer to see them win.
Otherwise both teams can lose for all I care.
