2022 Draft Watch (Part 1)

My mistake.
I’d hope he’s damned good enough to warrant our top 5 pick then.
If he expected to go around 15 and we think he suits our needs, we’d be wanting to trade for a pick around there (obviously on draft day).

I want quality on the list. Not flashes of brilliance.

The discussion around whether we are still ok if we slip from pick 3 to around pick 5 or 6 is missing an important point. Sure there might still be very good players available at pick 5/6, but it’s what might happen with our 2nd rounder that could also be important.
Currently it would be pick 21 (before any F/S inserts) and there is some hope that Alwyn Davey could fall below that. He is around the 15-20 mark in many rankings and F/S often get bid on a bit lowere than their ranking. If we climb the ladder and that pick 21 goes out by 2 or 3, then that means more picks which could nominate Davey around 20-23 and force us to use our 2nd rounder to match.
The best outcome we might hope for would be Davey not bid on before our pick and Munkara making it to pick 21, Both possible.

Surely they were confusing the brothers and just added them all onto the eldests?

I can see it now, Fathers son taken at pick 1 multiple years in a row just in time for the AFL to “adjust” the rules as Koby Bewick enters his final year of junior football

even if he puts in zero effort for the champs, is “injured” for the testing and no-shows his interviews, you know someone will select him with pick 39

@THE_DON1 (or anyone else who’s seen him play) who would you say Sheezel similar to?

I’ve never seen him play but an X-factor medium forward type who can also run through the middle and find the footy… maybe a Robbie Gray/Connor Rozee/Shaun Higgins?

Just like tippa was no good and we took a risk and rookie listed him.

A bit like Rozee/Rachele. Very skilful and clean and has an incredible knack around goals but could easily play other roles even half back as his kicking and vision are very good.

stringer
perkins
langford (even though i hate him as a wing)

Does he have pace?

Good agility but not flat out pace

Cheers. At this stage, assuming we have a top 4 pick, who would your preferences be for us?

LJ asks some good questions but you get a good gauge as to the person Harry is. Unfortunately a big hawks fan but he’s articulate, played basketball from a young age and models his game on Toby Greene. A fwd/mid…he’d be a great pick up. Racks them up and hits the scoreboard

Yeah but how many metres gained.

So Ashcroft in a nutshell…grew up around the Suns (because of his dads job at the time), loves Melbourne and the G is his favourite ground, barracks for Geelong because of Chris Scott…has only watched a few dvds of his dads premierships. Doesn’t sound like a young guy who can’t wait to get to Brisbane

These interviews are about as cringe as hamish’s half time with the little leaguers. Are there any highlights of sheezel anywhere i couldn’t find them?

If he doesn’t choose to be F/S for Brisbane he will most likely end up at North or West Coast.
I’d suggest neither is a appealing option for him

Brisbane would play more games at the MCG than either Norf or WC

I don’t mind them as you get a good sense for the person and how they act.

I’m with you, it’d be a no brainer for mine particularly given it’s his chance to play with his brother in couple of years later
