2022 Draft Watch (Part 2)

I think if your in the premiership window, moving up is ok if you have a clear need. Melbourne have clearly identified a need.

That would be unreal. We’d be in a position to absolutely boss the 2023 draft.

Something like pick 4, 12 (Freo), 16 (Dees). Potentially another selection after our first pick as well depending on what Parish decides.

We’d have options to either take 3-4 high picks in a very strong draft to set us up for the future or if there was someone we really loved (Harley Reid) we could do similar to what GWS did this year and trade up. Or alternatively get involved in trading in a quality player or two.

We could still get a good player at pick 13 this year too. Perhaps Elijah Hewett who we clearly rate.

Wow this deal is pretty similar to the one North rejected from Adelaide. You might have to do that deal

this is one of the main reasons i don’t want him drafted. he doesn’t even play for essendon yet and you already have so many defending his kicking, when there is literally video evidence floating around in his “highlight” package.

we already have parish as the can’t do no wrong ever brigade, I sure as ■■■■ don’t want another player even before he is drafted having people running around trying to convince people of what is literally there for all to see.

Melbourne would end up with another Petracca and we would have 3 Langfords.

We wouldn’t have pick 4, it would be gone as part of the deal.

No way am I trading a top 5 pick for a few picks that could be pushed back closer to the second round.

Adelaide’s first rounders were a lot higher up in the draft than what we’d get for the Dees.

Crows had pick 2 didn’t they?

I wouldn’t take that deal for the Dees.

What? I’m talking about 2023 draft and guessing our pick based on where I think we’ll finish. I bolded 2023 draft so that it is less confusing.

Of the 3 first rounders they are offering us, are 2 of them for next year??

yes

I would offer Melbourne 4 and our 2023 2nd instead of 22.
We’d have 13 & 22
Next year our 1st, possibly compo if Parish leaves and 2 later 1sts.
That’s 3 - possibly 4 1st round picks in 2023

They are offering 2 future first round picks tied to Freo and Melbourne.

So likely those 2 picks are 15-20 range.

Yes please.

IF we were intending on a trade raid again next year you may consider that Dees offer and be able to use those two late firsts

I doubt we are keen to drop out of top 10 this year though

Ah right. I don’t think we’ll have pick 4 next year. I’d be pretty surprised.

We could end up with no top 8 picks over a 2 year period, which wouldn’t be great.

We have Massimo,McGrath,Hind,Redman

More than enough HBF
