2022 Draft Watch (Part 2)

I’ll be shocked if Munkara gets to pick 40 watch us miss out on him by a pick or two

Edited.

Yeah he’s a very interesting prospect. Wouldn’t be disappointed with him.

If Munkara doesn’t get drafted, we can put him on the Cat B list and take one more player.

I was also pro Phillipou but realistically when you weigh up both players it was an obvious choice.

The only real concern with Tsatas’ game is his defensive efforts (yes this is something to note especially because we lack that already)
Everything else he does those is elite to borderline elite.

Phillipou is a much much much larger work in progress.
His midfield craft for one is seen as very basic at this point.

Its pretty understandable why we choose who we did.
I will be very interested watching them both in a couple of years time.

We do need to think about ruck depth post-Phillips. Draper and Bryan are both young and promising, but you can’t go into a season with only 2 rucks, or 2 rucks and an 18yo new draftee beanpole. McBride, Weiderman, and Reid are strictly break-glass-in-case-of-emergency options.

In 2 years time who do you want requesting a trade to Essendon?

  • George Wardlaw
  • Mattaes Phillipou
  • Bailey Humphrey
  • Aaron Cadman
  • Harry Sheezel

We need an ‘All of them’ option

In two years time do you expect you’ll prefer to use our first pick on:

  • trading for some guy from the 2022 draft
  • picking one of the 2024 draft prospects we’ve been getting hyped about all year

Yes.

Cats forum would be

In two years time what pick will the suns package with Bailey Humphrey for him to get home?

Dodoro drafts a skinny tall if no Davey bid comes

Munkara gets taken before 40

Book mark this

If we’re going tall then I want Barnett>Keeler>Hayes

I still the best value is in the small medium defenders and forwards at this point of the draft.

What about James Van Es??

What about Isaac Hayes?

I feel our club isn’t funky enough.

Regarding Lewis Hayes, he’s the consensus 2nd best key defender in the country (in terms of this draft class) just behind Busslinger. And I’ve seen him around the #15 mark in a few phantom drafts.

I reckon we’d be doing very well to get him at 25, provided we still have that selection in tact.

Any chance Dangerfield will be available at our next pick?

Seeing a lot of writeups about him on the forum lately. Has me excited about what he could become.
