Of the three clubs who can upset the party by bidding on Davey, West Coast are the only one who would have a tactical incentive to do it. So it wouldn’t surprise me to see it.
By doing so they preserve the talent pool of what’s available at their next pick, pick 29, by one player.
GWS by all reports aren’t going to be using their later pick (34) and will look to trade it.
The Bulldogs don’t pick again until 39 so it’s neither here nor there really at that point.

As a key defender we’ve also been linked to Hugh Davis /Davies from Claremont. Maybe 25 might be a bit early for him?
I half expect GWS to trade out there pick.
