2023 AGM - general discussion

LOL, trust you to pick me up on that. You work there, if memory serves, correct?

It was only one year. I’m not in the habit of going to the council office, but it was definitely in Kellaway Avenue. Is there a function room next door or something? After that, they shifted the AGM to the Clocktower Centre.

The mini community centre next door (other side of the micro car-park) is definitely bigger than the Council chambers… but still, eek.

Eek indeed, but that’s the one.

Seems a little passive aggressive (about a little car-park).

Have youse voted his ass out yet?
Then what happens next month, he goes to GC to help Suns get a winning season?

No. He retires at last at 76 and has the odd glass of shiraz in his local pub and puts the odd 10 bucks on a geegee in the TAB bar.

maybe he keeps working cos he doesn’t want to sit down for a red with the sash

Just out of interest, why did this topic get closed and then re-opened?

Young Kevin, should get back in, there, hows that.

The Blind refuse to see, their words fall on deaf ears. It is written.

A fool and his money. are good customers.

It’s a bit mean to refer to Sheeds as a blind fool.

I for one hope he is reelected, he gave us 4 flags. That every year we play Anzac Day, The Dreamtime, and the Country game are solely down to Sheeds drive, vision and tenacity. Plenty of clubs tried to take Anac Day away from us in the early years. He was instrumental in us holding on to Anzac Day. The fact we play AD DT are big reason players want to come to Essendon, Ben McKay mentioned it as a factor in his decision to become a Bomber. Thats a gift that keeps on giving, respect.

Is he going to be instrumental in the club reaching the ultimate success now? Those matches are side issues to the real goal - winning finals, and having players who wanna come because we win finals.

I don’t think any board member makes a difference to the win/loss column.

True, not in any direct way. So rather than look at what he did in other capacities, what does he offer being on the board? Or what do we lose by him not being on the board?

Little and less ?

Nobody disagree with Sheeds past services to the club and the AFL. He is a true Legend of the game. Issue has been his politically motivated activities to bring back his favourite son back to leadership of EFC. That is the reason for many people dont like him on the board.
