2023 BBFFL#2 Discussion

BBFFL#2 SEASON 2024 ANNOUNCEMENT

Platform Change

As you should now be aware, this season we will be moving from The Bench to the AFL Fantasy draft platform

A link was shared by PM last week. We are still waiting for 3 coaches still to sign up.

Coaching changes

As previously announced Kj_11 will be taking over Wezza’s team.

2024 Game Changes

With the move to AFL Fantasy the ability to have a utility player on field has disappeared. Therefore we need to amend our squad structures to as follows:

  • 6 Defenders
  • 5 Mids
  • 6 Forwards
  • 1 Ruck

BBFFL#2 Key Dates

Final trades to be finalised by 6pm AEDT 3 March

Keeper Deadline - Sunday March 3 9pm AEDT

Draft Begins - Monday March 4, 12pm AEDT

There will be no games played during Opening Round

Season begins - Thursday March 14 (Round 1)

Mid Season Trade Period - Rounds 12 to 15 (the bye rounds)

Keeper Postings

Please post your keepers on Blitz by the deadline

Draft Platform

TBD. Ideally we will be running the draft on AFL Fantasy but it is still to be determined once everyone is signed up and the full capabilities of the system are understood. There is a possibility that we will begin the draft on Blitz and convert over onto AFL Fantasy.

Bye Round Rules
For Rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6

Opening Round Scores will be utilised regardless of whether they are injured or suspended. As long as they played in the Opening Round, they are fine to be selected and their opening round score will count towards that rounds games.

For Rounds 12, 13, 14 and 15

Bye scoring will be a players season average.

Injury List Rules

With the change of platform it appears we will be unable to have expanded list spots. Therefore you will have to choose to carry injured players in your squad of 30.

An added benefit of this rule is that it should also help increase the free agency pool and offset some of the issues caused by the loss of the utility position.

Team Selection Rules

We will continue to use rolling lockouts meaning you can adjust your team throughout the weekend.

Emergencies at this stage will still cover each position they cover – note this is subject to change pending admin capabilities of the AFL Fantasy

Free Agency Rules

TBD – plan at this stage will be to lock out all free agents until midweek. Again this depends on the functionality of AFL Fantasy.
