2023 BBFFL#2 Discussion

It’s tight!

Won’t be after tonight.

Two eagles playing having a mare! Gaff and Edwards unsighted which will likely be game over

Really didn’t want to play Edwards as utility but since he was starting on a wing thought would be involved to outdo Breust 55 who I could have run with as first bench option but was hoping for more.

As an aside young Dempsey who I brought in this week and is on the pine has put on 62 in a half, tracking towards a ton and will be unused!

Q1 scores - Gaff 7, Edwards 5
Last week full game scores Gaff 99, Edwards 61

Gawddd!

Lol relax mate I wouldn’t throw in the towel after one quarter… you’re well and truly in this especially after Higgins and Dunkley had really bad games.

Tex has literally scored 50 odd points in the first quarter alone and Kelly has the ball on a string on track for 160!

Shocking quarter! I might be able to cope with one player stink it up but no way on two.

But yes hopefully they feed Tex constantly on his Coleman quest

Dunkley & Higgins down games was countered by Marshall and Gresham up games

I think Speedy might have me on the ropes!

Dale way down, English playing forward and miles down, Richards just OK, SPP barely on 16 at half time. To go with Higgins and Dunkley down there’s too many have bad games.

For Speedy Edwards and Gaff down granted, but Tex & Kelly both on 70 at half time with Treloar on almost 100 with a quarter left.

I don’t think so.

Edwards on 21 subbed injured
Gaff 36, Smith 53 at 3QT

On assumption those latter two don’t have big last quarters it will take a miracle to win with 3 extremely sub par scores.

Others are trying to carry the load though. Treloar 131 and at 3QT Tex 103 & Kelly 99

Very important last quarter coming up.

….

Yesss Tex!

Yessss Tex again!

Yessss Tex again again!

Now 4 last quarter goals and should have been 5!

@Crazy_Bomber

1067 from 12 players, av. 88. (inc. Emmett off bench for Cameron)

Speedy Gonzales

1043 from 11 players, av. 95

I thought I was dead in the water but the Texan’s heroics with 164 has saved me.

Still in it! Anyone’s game tomorrow!

I think only you being bi-polar after each quarter thinking it was over, the game was always up for grabs and Tex has landed the first standing 8 count with an absurd score more than making up for Edwards.

Looks like it’s a 24 point lead and Walsh, Hewett, Mills, Ross, Rioli & Whitfield versus Gawn, Coniglio, Kelly, Vlaustin, Lloyd, May & Neal-Bullen.

You should probably win pretty comfortably as I can foresee all your boys tonning up or close, I just can’t see any of Gawn, Cogs, Kelly, Vlaustin or Lloyd scoring badly. Whilst for me Mills is barely cracking 60’s these days, Ross has been average and Rioli has been scoring 40’s in the last month. Would take something out of the box for me to get up although anything is possible I guess, if an injury happens early.

I think my anxiety was warranted with Gaff on 7 and Edwards 5 at QT

But Tex and Treloar flipped the script together with some down scores from your mob

The bench super computer now believes I’m favourite on projections

But any late outs or early injuries in game and things can change quickly

Yeah but you have to look a the whole picture, Tex and Kelly were putting up humongous numbers to more than offset them in that first quarter, you were fine. You’ll cruise to victory from here, and well earnt too, your list deserved at least one premiership and I respect a hard trader. Enjoy the day mate, you deserve it.

As for my mob, we’re officially the Essendon of 2001, too many injuries and underperformers. It’s 3 quarter time in the 2001 GF and we’re down by 3 goals…After today we’ll have lost 2 games in 2 years but have one premiership to show for it but that’s the game. In a small positive, Emmett and Serong look like future players from this match, but not much more.

Ain’t over yet. Still more twists and turns in this tale I feel

Tex score certainly covered Edwards sub effort

The twist.

Mills going berzerk @Crazy_Bomber

The reality:

Rioli scores 31 and Ross scores 69.

@Speedy_Gonzales

Vlaustin 54 for me only and my 3 Dees are far from firing

Mills was off to a flyer & might outscore all 3 at this rate

Although they have lifted

I still think it’ll be game on for Blues vs GWS still to play

You edited before I could post… but you literally have May and Neale-Bullen on track to exceed their averages easily and Lloyd on to post a ton with Gawn to also get around a ton…

Mills is having a good game but would need to match Tex’s 164 for me to stand a chance.

Mills is heading that way over 100 with 13mins to run in Q3

Gawn off injured now also. And they’ll take no risks. Game means nothing to Dees

Mills 130 at 3/4. Saving his scoring for when it really counts for CB

Mills 155! Huge. I fkn knew there was a twist to come today

It’s now neck and neck again

@Crazy_Bomber > 1322 from 15, av 88

Speedy Gonzales > 1424 from 16, av 89

So close. 102 lead with 2 (Kelly & Coniglio) vs 3 (Hewett, Walsh & Whitfield) to go.

No Cripps will mean Blues boys a lot more inside time. Kelly will probably get tagged.

I can see it now. That decision of mine to not take Breust 55 & ended with Edwards 21 subbed off injured might be the difference now. Sheeeeeet.

It’s half time and you should still be OK @Speedy_Gonzales

Whitfield and Walsh both firing for me and Kelly and Cogs both firing for you basically breaking even there. But Hewett not doing enough to overhaul the 100 odd point difference for me as he sits on just 35 at half time; would need to more than double his second half for me to be a chance here. I don’t like barracking for injuries but it might be the only way I can win.

I’m more surprised I’m still in it and good to see the boys haven’t thrown in the towel. Rioli putting on his worst score of the year with a 31 being the difference me thinks.
