2023 FF Original Discussion Thread

Condolences, @Jefferson . Obviously a margin that close comes down to small shifts in luck , or otherwise.

A very important win for us because all we can do is grab whatever points we can now, and hope for more options at the selection table - and better form from quite a few players - as the season rolls on.

The injury niggles to Zorko and Rich will hopefully open the door for Lyons to get a start. No idea what Carlton will do with Kennedy. And North are a total basket case, who knows if Powell and Tucker will cop it for an abysmal outing against Melbourne. Selection will be interesting come Thursday night.

Considering I’ve played the last 2 weeks one player short with no Nankervis and De Koning, I’ll take it.

I’d like to LTI Heath Chapman (Freo) thanks. 6-8 week hammy says Longmuir.

FAs have been processed.

Not that it mattered…
But I didn’t realise Drury was on FAs.
We welcome back Zane Trew though. That old chestnut…

Edit…
@Dunlop
Can you please check the LTIs. I think some coaches are using ones from a few weeks ago and I can’t quite find the post about it.

I expected it, but still pesky wezzle.

Nothing untoward with the LTIs - everybody can check their LTIs - who they’ve placed on there, when they’re eligible to be removed and whether they’ve used their replacement pick or not - at the very top of current squad page.

I’ll endeavour to update the squads themselves on a weekly basis from next week as Bench can cause a bit of tunnel vision with selecting squads.

The Seagulls welcome back to the club, Mason Cox. He’ll be hoping to add to his 5 games from last season. My forwards are so dire this season that my 8th best back, would be my 3rd best forward, so Mason walks into the mix with the 5th best average.
Berry can’t return to form quickly enough.

I’m cursed. In search for a ruck… select Schache? Omitted. Now with no Backs (replaced Rampe on LTI), i’ll be playing two down this week. FML!

Finals next year.
I feel it in my waters.
Going from 1200 to 1350s.
Which is not to disparage coaches that have been building for five years.

Now, if people could please stop trading gun lifetime mids to CB for a handful of magic beans…that’d…that’d be just great.

I thought I got good value out of Ben Keays at the time.
I think it was a first round pick + 2nd round pick + Willem Drew.
I used those picks on Angus Sheldrick and Matthew Johnson who are yet to develop but starting to get their opportunities this year.
I eventually traded away Drew and think I turned him into Monty who I have since delisted.

Harris come on mate

I doubt I can adequately express my frustration with Fark Carlton and Fark Voss. Matt Kennedy, 61 in a quarter. As the sub. Ffs. My side could/should be going so much better.

Fingers crossed that none of my forwards are late out. Cumberland sitting as my first emergency with a subbed score of -2.

Seems like Ed Curnow is preferred over him, but I’m not sure why.
