2023 into 2024 trade talk (Part 4)

Both essendon and Geelong will be sensing desperation in port and are trying to take full advantage. Port lured BZT, esava, sweet and soldo without the draft capital to get it done. They need land these key backs and a ruck if they want to contend next year

I would also be happy to retain Zerk, fark Port.

Good, there is absolutely no way we should be giving more to port than a straight swap for a cooked duursma.

I’d love to see Zerk next to McKay

Yep, would allow Rids to do his thing and Lav hasn’t got a lot left imo.

Agree, and it will get done. Don’t fall for all the white noise. There’s an industry thriving on the ā€˜noise’, clicks, views… It’s business and there’s egos. Put all the noise aside and in the end the negotiation will take its course and the players will find their destination. The pick swap is scraps and it’s the media and the industry egos falling over themselves about who wins / looses etc. we have until late Wednesday, there’s no hurry. It will get done.

Rayner was drafted as a BBM, but doesn’t seem to get much of a run other than HFF.

I’d hate to see us try to break the cardinal rule of football - playing a guy away from a position he’s established himself in.

So because Geelong want more for Ratugolea, Port think Essendon should stump up more for Duursma. That sounds like a Port problem to me

His career is the exact opposite to zerks. Started well and gone backwards every year, zerk started slow and has improved year upon year.

Plus zerk plays a valuable position, guys like duursma are a dime a dozen as a floating wing or half forward.

Maybe go on Foxtel and watch duursma’s last few games Nino, you’ll go off him very quickly.

BZT is not playing for us again.

would trade pick 9 for rayner, replaces stringer.

Jack Peris. Free. Only game very promising. Speed and tackle pressure.

Zerk won the reverse coleman but yep he’s improved every year.

yep agree with this

Monday - Wednesday will be all about Essendon being hard to deal with. It will be all our fault when the Esava/Duursma/Zerk deals take until the final hour.

We will be up to something.

100% for sure nothing generates clicks like Essendon always our fault.

Meanwhile Geelong get a free pass and being lauded for being tough

Are you suggesting we play McKay forward?

There was a SEN article about the cats being the new Essendon and hard to deal with.
