2023 into 2024 trade talk (Part 4)

I bet North and Saints don’t think we’re difficult to deal with.

Not really trades though. So media couldn’t say much. Other than we overpayed of course.

Preach it Kane

Geelong will get him and continue to miss the cliff won’t they

Wouldn’t be enough

So the same news from last week.

Because of our generosity North got pick 3 and Saints got pick 20. We can’t be accused of being difficult. And it’s not our fault Port are writing cheques they can’t cash.

@CJohns - great podcast- thanks. Really enjoyed it all and fantastic to hear from Cal.

I don’t think we should be accused just to be clear. I think we’re being entirely reasonable this trade period. More than reasonable when you consider the compensation we’ve afforded other clubs through our contract offers to these free agents. But no one generates clicks & engagement from the ferals more than Essendon/Dodoro. So I can very easily see them taking this Duursma/Zerk trade & really running with the Essendon/Hard to deal with tripe again. Barrett will sook about it. He’s already taken multiple shots at Dodoro.

Need Lloyd for the Pitch.

Raised in a family of mad Essendon supporters, Rayner grew up with Matthew Lloyd his football hero. He’d always dreamt of making it to the AFL, but it was only a couple of year ago that it dawned on him that he could actually get there.

You’d probably rather stay in Melbourne, but if you get the chance to play AFL you’re going to play it anywhere.

kane reads blitz, i said this weeks ago

I’m genuinely on board about bringing Peris over to train with the club this summer, amongst probably a handful of others.

All the players in our backline deserve a medal. We have the biggest non defensive midfield in the comp

We can’t post trade whisperer, but people can post John Ralph articles? FMD

BZT straight swap for Duursma just makes sense.

Fills a need for both clubs and no bullshit complications.

Get it done.

Cal Said Duursma worh slightly more due to being contracted and slightly more runs on the board.

would be happy to do future third
for future fourth type deal.

If we must…

That shouldn’t mean it goes until the last two minutes of the deadline.

But I bet it does.

Being contracted helps Duursma’s value but Zerk Thatcher has shown development and is on the improve while Duursma started with a bang in 2019 but has fizzled over the following 4 seasons. Overall they’re pretty even IMHO. Also $700k for Ratugolea?? Cripes!
