2023 trade talk (Part 3)

As long as you use one first over two years I’m pretty sure that’s ok. We’d have pick 1 in 2023.

Nope, can’t trade out of a future 1st and 2nd round. You can only let one future 1st or 2nd pick go.

Can we also get a Matthew Lloyd and a Scott Lucas with that please?

From the AFL website:

RULE PROVISION COULD UNLOCK TRADE DEALS

CLUBS are looking to see if there are provisions within rules that could allow them to trade out their future first and second-round picks to unlock deals.

Under the AFL’s rules, clubs can trade out a future first-round draft selection but if they do that, must retain the rest of their future selections for that draft. If they trade out a second, third or fourth-round future pick, they must hold their first-rounder for that year.

LOL. I’d be very surprised.

Is that because we know and really want H Reid? I suppose as he played and trained with us, he is a known commodity.

that would be complete stupidity.

Why? We have zero point of difference players. Reid projects to be that

Let teams roll the dice. Go all in. If they fail they took the risk

If SPS still wants to play AFL and would be happy returning to live in Melbourne, he would certainly be worth a look as a DFA

That won’t cut it. They’re gonna get way better offers than that, we’ll be laughed out the room

It’s an opinion job with no formal qualifications. Most people don’t have time to consume under age games so fawn over the opinions of the few that do. When you actually start to watch a lot of under age footy yourself (as i have done the past few years) you realise a lot of these draft experts don’t know much at all, other than the players names and a brief description. Their actual identification of talent is pathetic. I’m not having a crack at the don here, just in general i mean. It’s funny when you start to watch yourself you realise some of these people are like robbo writing in the Herald Sun about footy, but because nobody else has seen these players play themselves, the average footy fan can’t see how poor their analysis is. In fact, there are a few out there that i wonder if they even watch much under age footy at all these days, but they are still called ‘experts’ on footy forums like blitz and in the media.

Vozzo might still have some very viable relationships at WC.

Don’t go selling the farm or anything though…

If they’ve knocked back 4 first rounders from Norf already, that offers not getting much traction IMO.

That might be two top 5 picks.

And giving away out R2.

So I’m two years we only have Draper as a ruck.

Absurd.

How many pick 1s actually end up being way way better than the next best 2 or 3?

There weren’t any inside the top 10 let alone top 5 picks in that offer.

They were all very late 1st round picks.
There’s a massive difference btw top 5, then top 10 and then late teens.
Not all 1st round picks were created equal.

A big NO from me for all 3.
Fanta is too injury prone.
SPS isn’t that good.
Menegola is past his use by date.
