Interesting stats and point taken but there’s always an argument to be had with taking on any player.
The last few years just to name a couple have been Dunkley and De Goey which would be amazing players for us.
Flip will possibly retire this year or next and we are light on for talls.
From all reports we have the cap space and the kids 23 which fits our age demographic.
IMO I think the kid has a lot of potential and it sounds like there’s a chance to pry him off FC.

Yeah he might cost us our pick 10ish but watch dodoro pick Reid’s slim brother with that pick or similar which will take 3-4 years to get their body fit for afl.

Bryan to the point I pulled those stats was doing better despite being two years younger. Why use draft picks to get TDK and probably watch Bryan walk for opportunity, when we can just stick with Bryan? If Phillips leaves get some mature backup, not an expensive kid with potential and not much more shown to date.

Does this mean you have given up on getting Gresham? I remember you were pushing his case a year or so ago.

As a FA, wouldn’t be the worst way to spend salary cap.

Gresham would be a perfect fit for us and would round out the Carlisle trade.

We traded Carlisle and 14 for 5, 24 and Craig Bird if I remember correctly. We took Francis and Alex Morgan and they took Gresham with 17. We thought we’d made out like bandits at the time but turns out Gresham was good and Bird, Francis and Morgan were very average.

Key question would be if we could get him to buy in to defense first footy

Yeah almost impossible, he’s contracted for 2 more years as well.
