So I’ve genuinely gone from having 3 good scoring ruckmen a few rounds ago to 0 playing this week barring Krueger getting picked for the Pies. Good thing it’s only when playing a fellow top 4 side ffs

Kreuger ended up getting picked and posting a huge 80, which I was thrilled with. Has earned himself the ‘Jack Hayes’ automatic Melkmen lifetime membership by posting a big score out of nowhere on debut.
Not enough to get the win against Sal, but certainly kept me in it.

Pretty close to asking for a veto of that Mason Redman trade. 80+ defender in his prime for 3 pretty average picks is not what I would call a great trade…

Three top 3 round picks for a rebuilding team is fine and better than a lot of other trades I’ve seen, I guess it seems worse when it’s a direct competitor? In this league alone there has been plenty of similar trades, a few years back a 90+ ave defender was traded for basically two fringe players, no one seemed to care. In the other league the 7th highest averaging defender in the comp, a 100+ averaging player was traded to the flag favourite for a few picks. Another example of literally the highest averaging player in the comp being traded to a premiership contender for more or less a sole pick. Miles Bergman who averages 7 points less than Redman was traded for a 5th Round pick! The list goes on. If anything it’s a very run of the mill trade.

Totally agree that CB wins this trade by a country mile. If Redman was on the open market, I could see someone offering two first round picks which is what he’s worth.
Not a deal I would have agreed to but CB shouldn’t be penalised because coaches are willing to accept mediocre compensation for someone who will be a best 18 player in a top four team.
Nothing stopping anyone else from capitalising on these type of situations where a coach is willing to give up a player.
I say kudos to CB for being proactive. That’s why he’s a successful coach. You have to be ruthless.

Yeah I think it’s an extremely lopsided trade. Three picks that you’ll be very lucky to draft in a player anywhere near as good as Redman. Clearly CB has thrown up an absolute lemon and he’s sucked Ace in.
