2024 FF Original Discussion Thread

Yep.
Trade Period Opens when round 12 begins which marks the first of the bye rounds.
Trade Period Closes at the completion of round 15.

There is also position additions happening after the end of this round.

Thanks Wim.

At full strength, and things going well, I think we could just scrape in and be a worry for opponents . But we’d need a lot to go right. Feels like we’re a little off the pace - 9th on ā€œpoints forā€, 8th best for the round so the ladder is about right on that front -and there’s no solution to the ruck issue at the moment. Not sure how far off Soldo is.

I’m sure someone will trade you a ruck in round 12, if you’re still that desperate.

FAs have been processed.

Best of luck to all the coaches.

I certainly am thrilled that I ended up getting Liam farking Jones for the second time this season. Paul Curtis joins us for the second time this season too, but he’s yet to annoy me as much as Liam.

Fark I’ve been lucky with my FA picks.
Have gotten two best scores out of spud Jones this year.
Looks like I caught Curtis’ good game this round.
Ralphsmith has been the same.
Lachie jones too.

Good to have some stability in my 18 after 4 years of rubbish.

Bye rounds begin next week.
A few things;

  • I need a volunteer to check/cross check bye scores for next week.
  • position changes are due later on tonight.
  • trade period is upon us. Trade period opens at the commencement of this round and runs until the end of round 15.
@saladin, can you unlock the trade discussion thread when you get a chance.

Opened.

DPP positions are…
Erm…
Underwhelming….

What format are we running with next year? Seems hasty to trade for the future without knowing.

Good point.
We won’t be going with this many mids.
I think we’ll go to a 6-5-1-6 just like the other comp.

How many forward/mids/defenders are available as free agents in the comp?

Small adjustment to trade rules.
The system doesn’t allow you to make trades for nothing in return.

Trades can occur even during rounds are in play so if your trading for draft picks, just agree to add whoever you are likely to delist at the next FA. This way no one needs to track excess players and it doesn’t get complex whilst rounds are happening.

Edit…
I can force through trades for picks. But the system forces the coach with excess players to delist a player before you can make adjustments to your team.
So it’s up to the coaches if they want to add an extra player into the trade or just keep it as player for pick and I’ll process them by the end of the day as the trades are posted in the confirmed trade thread.

A reminder about the upcoming bye rules.

For Rounds 12, 13, 14 and 15

  • A player that is injured or suspended during the bye week can still be selected as long as they played the week before.
  • Bye scoring will be a players season average.

Brisbane, North Melbourne, Sydney and GWS have byes this round.

I can’t work out how to delist a player for Gawn to come onto the list.

I’ll push the trade through.

Edit…
If jballer is correct, it should warn you that you must drop a player before doing anything.

My intention is to drop Miller Bergman into FA but I can’t see how it’s done without nominating an incoming FA.

Hit refresh. Gawn should be on your list and you should be able to delist a player without selecting one to come back on your list.

Ok, found it. Hit the three dots on the far right hand side of the players name on the team page.

Important win, that one. I feel like we’ve just fallen the wrong side of the ledger in key games this season, but that one keeps us in touch with the top 8. And a pretty good score in its own right.

No changes to the scores from what I can tell.

Ladder is as per the below.

Reminder about the bye round rules.
FAs are this Wednesday.

Well done, CB, you lucky, lucky…

If I’d traded in Walker in time, or if I’d chosen either of my two available forwards instead of Amiss…
