I would be wary of Ling if he’s been around the Geelong VFL setup and they have passed on him. He’s the kind of player they would look to keep around and then senior list if they thought he was going to do a job for them, like Menegola back in the day.
I doubt we are one of the teams, given we have already looked at him.
Interestingly Will Snelling leading SANFL for disposals avg 30 PPG & Tackles.
Billy Cootee playing ok too.
Why is Oscar Smartt not listed in today’s list as per the Herald Sun
was listed in the AGE.
And the age suggested Jasper Scaife will be the number 1 pick from North.

Foley worth a shot?
Probably hold out till the end of the year and take him as a Cat B rookie (as an unselected NGA player) if anything.
I mean he’s 38 and we’re probably not short on inside mids. Pass.
I think he is still eligible for rookie B
So definitely worth a shot at the end of the year.
Cat B players can be put on the list at anytime. Maybe we are happy just to see him develop in the VFL for now
Isn’t that only for players who are not registered footballers?
Yes and also for academy kids who are overlooked in the main draft. See Mankara last year.
Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) have expressed interest in dual-Simpson medallist Milan Murdock as the in-form East Fremantle midfielder shoots into mid-season rookie draft calculations.
The West Australian understands Murdock, 23, has been sounded out by the Eagles through his club the Sharks, while he met with Essendon at the weekend ahead of the draft on May 29.
It comes fresh off his starring role for Western Australia in their 63-point loss to South Australia at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Murdock was easily the best on ground for the Black Swans, winning the Simpson Medal after finishing with 27 disposals, five clearances and two goals.
The inside midfielder is ranked no.1 in the WAFL for tackles (10) and is averaging 25 disposals, 12 contested and 6.5 clearances for the reigning premiers.
Murdock had a breakout year in 2023, when the midfielder led the Sandover Medal count after the first five rounds with 11 votes before injuries restricted him in the second half of the season.
He then produced an incredible finals series including claiming the Simpson Medal in the grand final win over Peel Thunder, showcasing his versatility by playing as a small forward.
East Fremantle forward Jed Hagan had also garnered interest from the Bombers.
Do you know many category B rookies you can you have at one time? I definitely want Nguyen taken at the end of the year, but yes Foley is definitely worth being upgraded too.
Hagan looks clean and looks like a decent kick as well
Max 2. But I think Nguyen could go in the draft this year.
Hmm yeah hopefully Nguyen gets bid picked in the main draft, i rate him but feel he could slide. I also want al achkar next year if he doesn’t get drafted too, so in addition to Foley there are 3 potential rookie B’s that i like for us.
I had heard lots of good stuff about Hagar and yes it didn’t help that his team was garbage on the weekend but stunk it up big time.
Murdock was good for them and tried all day but geez their lot looked really average and if that’s an indication of the quality of the WAFL then wowsers
Oskar Smartt was a hot name in MSD conversations after this performance in the VFL. Things have cooled off a little for him since then with some quieter performances, but he’s still in with a good shot of ending up on an AFL list next week.
Wasn’t Hagen talked about as SSP for us at the beginning of the year ?
