This is a draft. You are not picking up a guy who will dominate straight away at senior level. Certainly not with the second last pick.

2023 National draft picks - 64
Rookie draft - about 20 picks
SSP - about 10 picks.
So if we have pick 16/17 in the midseason it is about pick 110 if you combined all those drafts. Not great.
Therefore it is very hard to expect a ready made gun to be there ready to impact at AFL level.
Best to go with a project player and hope he develops

Contrary to some, I’m going to have some faith in the Bomber recruitment team. They’re travelling nicely at the moment and have put a few runs on the board.

Richmond at one stage played with zero talls last week. Interesting decision to keep Laverde. I would have kept more run/speed in the team.
