I didn’t like Carlisle’s comments about the club, true as they may have turned out to be. And I did find his reputation as a step ladder amusing.
However, for years, while he wore Saints colours, and they played so terribly, he’d clunk mark after mark in defence every week. Without him there, they would have suffered so many more embarrassing losses.
He’s 180cm so unless you want a tall small forward, height isn’t a problem.
I suppose you could hope for lightning quick with a high hurt factor, but it’s the mid season draft - I don’t think you should hold your breath for the perfect player. An 18yo who is doing well in the VFL sounds pretty good to me.
He’s 175cm everywhere I see and relax, I’m joking about his draft profile.
Figured the emoji conveyed that, might need to throw in a /s too next time. Also doesn’t the article say he’s playing in the wafl?
And he’s 20…
I think we’re at cross purposes here @EssendonPride1.
I’m talking about Oskar Smartt and I don’t think you are.
As far as draft profile is concerned, the following is Kevin Sheahan’s pre draft write up of Smartt - Oskar Smartt
State: Victoria Country
State League Club: Bendigo Pioneers
Community Club; Leitchville Gunbower
Date of Birth: 26/10/05
Height: 180cm
Powerful midfielder/forward who is very strong in the contest and has an excellent leap with strong hands overhead. Showed good speed and courage in his 10 matches with the Bendigo Pioneers averaging 12.6 disposals and earned selection in two matches for Victoria Country at the National Championships, playing against South Australia and Victoria Metro. His 3.02 seconds on the 20m sprint at the state Draft Combine confirmed his pace.
From the limited amount of VFL games I’ve watched I’d say Smartt has left a good impression on me. I’d say from a list needs perspective we should target the quickest small forward who likes to chase and tackle! Not sure if any of the lower leagues have any of these though…
Lol, when @barnz asked yesterday if there was a speedy small forward in a state league, I went looking at the stats, and Hagan’s the only small under 25 who’s scored goals worth a ■■■■. I didn’t reply with his name because he’s not speedy and looks like late 90s Jay Mohr.
I saw him a ew times last year at SANFL and he was garbage in a couple of them and serviceable in a couple. He may have improved back home but he wasn’t draft material last year IMO
