Really? Our record with MSD is actually pretty good. Strange one to be upset by.
Being a litlle toung in cheek, although i do believe it is time fro the club to move on. The Dud having to look at the msd is a big drop in status for him though.
I agree also.
Everyone on the Smart bandwagon, is it just because people saw him more than others due to him being at our VFL team? No offence to him, but I hope we’re looking at other small forwards.
Glad to hear Dodo is targeting a small forward - it is the first, second and third biggest need for the club right now.
Hagan doesn’t excite me a great deal (from limited highlights). Need to be very, very good at other things to make it as a small forward without pace.
you’re new here aren’t you?
From the sounds of it, there should be players with no difficiencies and no room for improvement that would have been overlooked during multiple drafts, multiple SSP periods and multiple mid season drafts.
Will snelling bog for sturt today.
Bog average?
I hate to repeat myself, but if a speedy small forward that is (currently) a big upgrade on Davey by filling his role is required, then little peris is your man. I’d much prefer him rolling out in a final over alwyn and it seems a big need for the team at the moment that role, otherwise alwyn wouldn’t be getting games.
Agree, I reckon he’s worth a punt, we need the speed.
I hope we re not trying to solve the small forward issue via getting lucky in msd. It is an area of the ground we haven’t actually invested in apart from late picks and father sons (apart from Gresham).
If there is someone outstanding, great. But I don’t think that means the issue has been addressed at all from a list perspective.
We actually need to use a high draft pick or target someone from another club to get the quality in.
I think we should use our pick on a SF, but we still have a way to go in that part of the field.
i think we;r really gambling on being able to snag a kako type
Has been Sturts best in all 5 games and would have probably 10-12 Magarey Votes already. Averaging over 30 touches per games and 10 tackles. Absolutely dominates at this level
he literally suffers from not being 5-10cm taller or a touch faster.
If we’re talking a 6 month contract id have no issues trialling smart or Peris.
Surely we go for a small forward just so they have some sort of chance to actually play.
Yep, he is perfect in the second tier where pace isn’t a huge concern.
Sounds about right. In the last 20 years We’ve had a small kick 30 goals in a season a total of 6 times (Tippa 3, and Zaka, Fantasia, Monfries once each). Despite that dismal record we for some reason act like we have the capacity to snag a dangerous small with a late pick on demand.
its almost like the clubs not paid attention to most of the grandfinal winners of the last decade having elite small forwards be integral to their winning
Yeah, I think we both underrate the position and are bad at spotting the talent. It’s a potent mix.
Spotting Walla and Fantasia would ticks in the right column, both couldn’t keep their bodies right.
Looking back at the Grand final level small forwards they are picked for every part of the draft from top 10 to late draft
