James Rowe having a good season in the SANFL. I thought he was unlucky to be delisted by the Crows. Averaged about a goal a game and was used as the sub a lot. Still only 24.

Was he good defensively? Small forwards are now expected to do more than kick goals, their primary purpose it to upply pressure to keep the ball in the forward 50.
He couldn’t get near it. From what I’ve seen of him this year he is a fair bit off it

Elite speed. Rundown tackles. No worries about hitting the pack hard. Playing well in our VFL side.

Ok. Fair. Why was he let go from Saints?
He is definitely very fast. But I haven’t seen him do anything in the VFL which screams he should be on an AFL list again.
Narkle for chunks of last season looked clearly a step above VFL. Peris hasn’t looked that at all.

Narkle is not a small forward though, he is a mid.

The overarching principle is the same.
Narkle looked like he could play at AFL level when playing VFL. Peris has not so far.
Irrespective of position.
I can’t say I have seen much of Peris to comment, but he can’t be worse that Davey Jnr.

Have you seen him in the vfl I’d argue he’s probably the worst of the smalls in the vfl and the only reason most want him is because he is fast
So the same as Davey Jnr. Someone mentioned that he is not afraid of contact, so that puts him ahead of Davey already.
