So, are there any parameters around the two “injured players” spots? Do they have to be out for a minimum period to access the replacements?

Just on the weekend, I’m very pleased to bank a tough win against Wim’s mob - that squad has been extremely competitive over the last couple of seasons, obviously , but he did get a bit unlucky with selection issues - considering how many missing players we currently have. Having to field both Dewar and Long in the starting 18 wasn’t exactly how we envisaged our best lineup, lol. A valuable 4 points and hopefully we can welcome a few players back over the next week or two. Bolton, Pickett, Coleman and Flanders will be luxuries to have.

All things considered, Dewar actually looked promising but I need West Coast to find someone who can actually win an inside contest in order for him to really show his wares. Bo Allen will probably get a game too, but my backline is not the area under most scrutiny.

The other thing that we do need to happen is getting some favourable outcomes at the first positional adjustment. Martin looks like his defensive role is a thing of the past, so getting forward eligibility would be ideal but even midfield could be useful. And De Koning earning Ruck status would ease the pressure on Witts to carry our season.

Having given this more though i think it should be a minimum 6 week or medium term I just to use the injury slot. Will have a think about how we administer it.

I agree with this as well. Initially I was thinking it could be a good idea to just follow the AFL fantasy injured players eligibility, but the system they have is pretty open to manipulation given they have guys with 1-2 weeks injuries eligible.

I’m happy to do the admin on this if you like red, assuming we would be effectively back to the old model of PM on blitz with a link to an article/new source which confirms injury length is 6/8 weeks or tbc/indefinite.

Is RFA availability tomorrow?

I have Mitchell who is still TBA and Treloar who was 4-6 weeks on the AFL app prior to round 1 in the injured slots.

I want to do the right thing and delist players in time for RFA pick-up if my players aren’t eligible.

As long as an official source has mentioned 6 weeks + you will be fine with Treloar. You would then be running the risk that if he returns in 4, you wouldn’t be able to play him for 2 weeks.

The TBC ones are a bit more challenging as sometimes they may be less and sometimes they mean indefinite

I would stick with the system, to reduce admin and mucking around.

While it does pick up very short term injuries, it’s not like you can horde players forever, it forces you to cut a player when the injured player comes back if your squad is full, or all other trade actions are stopped.

The difference is pretty marginal, particularly with what’s left in the player pool, and probably helps teams to field more competitive squads when getting smashed by injuries.

I’ll add Ballard to the LTI list

So…are we doing the six week thing, or not?
If we are, I’m gonna cut the two players I picked up before thingy tonight.

Yes confirmed 6 weeks or medium term on club injury list.

Please request your players in the thread for them to be eligible.

So Ballard is eligible I assume

Ballard will certainly be eligible

I’ve got Nic Newman (ACL) and Toby Conway

This was the description on Conway from the Geelong site along with a TBC timeline
“Toby has returned to running and is progressing well through this reconditioning block. He will start integrating into football-based drills over the next fortnight. Toby is a long-term prospect, and a timeline on his return will be set as an appropriate preseason load profile is completed.”

When is the next opportunities for trades?

Midseason. Usually end of May, early June.

I’ve got Hotton and Chesser as LTIs - both listed as ‘TBC’ but certainly considered longer term injuries.

Is that viable?

What’s the rule if they’re injured when you draft them?

Both definitely eligible on timeframe.

The rule used to be that they had to be on your list when injured when we last ran it in 2023.

What are coaches thoughts on whether players should be eligible if already injured when drafted/traded in/picked up from FAs?

Is it just me, or is the “free agents” filter on the app broken?

I think you have to pick RFA.
