But in all seriousness, we’ve had a good group of 1st year kids, but I can’t think of anyone who is beyond their first year who really improved. Maybe Caldwell for half a year? Zach Reid had his best run of games… Prior got better as the season went on, but again it’s his first year with us and I’m not sure what the eligibility is…
You reckon McGrath is going to finish behind Nic Martin??? Despite playing 8 more games? Well 7, but essentially 8 as Martin did his knee and was wiped out of a further game.
It’s well known I’m not exactly his biggest cheerleader but I’d be staggered if McGrath didn’t finish top 2 this year purely through a combination of him playing every game, playing about half of them to an ok-decent standard and just about every other player of any sort of caliber going down injured or suspended (Durham) for long stretches.
Martin would have been in the top 2 like Merrett for most of his 16 games - well say 15 then.
McGrath had a few good games, but they were towards the back end…
I could easily be wrong and McGrath could end up second.
