Caleb Serong Really? I don’t see that comparison at all. Serong is a compact pocket rocket with some great wheels and pretty tidy by foot for a player who is often driving the ball out the front of contests.
Sharp looks like a monster at the contest, is about half a foot taller with great hands and smarts but kicks it like Andrew Dunkley and Will Brodie.
Duursma remins me a little of lizard Blakey at the Swans….bit smaller but maybe still growing? At AFL level seems best suited as a tall mobile half back flanker initially. Likes to get involved which is always good.
Which is why I would love for us to try our luck with Patterson, if Zeke goes one or two they’d struggle to match.
They spent decent to get in Rioli, took on Noble, and have cemented Uwland. Their need for him isn’t huge so there is a slight chance they’d pass, if not at least force them to pass up points wise and make it difficult. (It’s not like they’ll be in a position to do likewise with Justice, or Bewick in the near future)
We have proven history of good picks in weak drafts.
Also, North have been very unlucky. They had Horn-Francis & Tarryn Thomas both leave, they haven’t had access to Darcy, Daicos, Jamara, 2 x Ashcrofts, Walter etc. This is why bottom clubs have every right to be annoyed with F&S and Academy picks.
Mitch Marsh continued with his change of roles in this one, playing mostly as a tall marking wingman with a few stints in the ruck and only a couple of rotations forward. It’s an interesting move which suits his strengths and looks great when it works, but seems not to be entirely natural for Mitch yet who can get lost at times. With his status as a first round pick cemented due to his fantastic Champs campaign it’s not a bad idea to experiment and show prospective clubs that he has some versatility to his game.
