2025 draft spec (Part 2) inc the actual drafts

That’s interesting that they are open to sliding behind the Dees.

All the chatter has been Melbourne seem to be looking at similar talent to us.

Assuming it’s us sliding back

Pickett please, we need X factor and excitement

Robey excites me more than Sharp. Hoping somehow he gets to us. But not looking great.

Robey or Sharp will fall through to pick 5 and be stoked with either.

I think Sharp could be the best player of the draft.

I don’t think there’s a scenario where CDT Duursma or Taylor slide. I mean maybe.

I’d be surprised if he is. He seems the most likely to be at least decent but not sure he has the dynamics to be likely viewed as the best player in the draft in a few years from now.

Well, he is clubhouse leader at the moment. So that’s a good start.

9 or 11, or 9 and 11?

Sharp!

Open Draft.

The 3 best Queensland academy kids are freaks.

You’d think it would be 9 and 11.

We’d be able to offer not bidding on Dean, plus pick 6 for the blues to get a selection in before Dean, and a couple of picks in the 20s to help them match on the Dean bid when it comes.

Would 9 and 11 be enough for us in this scenario though?

Would mean that instead of Sharp + Cumming, we’d instead end up with something like Sharp + Schubert + Dovaston.

Sharp, Schubert and Dovaston would be a great haul.

You could argue that would be us getting the best pure midfielder, best small forward and best key forward in the draft.

Just listened to Gettable. Cal only mentioned pick 9 from Carlton; not 11 as well. Whether we’re offering all our picks in the 20s and they’re giving us 9 and 43 back or whether we’re offering a future pick might be the play. Given our list needs I think the prospect of getting Sharp and Cumming with our first 2 picks will satisfy our recruiters that we have a couple of highly talented midfielders with strong leadership traits and strong defensive games and then if we trade up to 9 try and nab Farrow (if Melbourne don’t pick him) too. Then we’re running the gauntlet on a Sweid bid…we might be happy to let him go if we ended up with Sharp, Cumming and Farrow as the opportunity cost and then see 43 come into the 30s to get a high upside player like Wright or Emmett (if still on the board).

If we had 5, 9, 11, I would like Sharp, Farrow, Dovaston

It would take Pies F1 for blues to do it and the trade would have to happen once the Dean bid comes in, so risk is high for the pies to do it if Sharp is their target as he could be gone to us before they pick at 9.

I wonder if we would go Sharp and Farrow, if we rate farrow as a mid option.

Perfect combo i reckon. All 3 are massive needs especially if farrow has scope to move into the midfield.

After those 3 if we had a pick in the 20s left go for NHH and it whoever the club wants more out of sweid and huss.

That’s interesting. Collingwood must have mail we might not take him.

I think if what Cal says is right(usually is) that the clubs all have very different draft boards on where they rate talent…

That means there will probably be a fair bit of live pick trading and mind games.

I could see Essendon looking at a Pick 6 and 21 for 9 and 11 swap. We tell Blues we wont bid on Dean.

If we are really into Farrow I think he makes it to 9.

5,9 and 11…… 27 and 30 for NGA’s

risk is Eagles bidding. Thats the Blues big issue
