2025 draft spec

Yes, I’m sure you all cleverly suspected Collingwoods future pick would free-fall into Finn Callaghan’s draft range

Yep he has still been my favourite so far

Wow that really is ordinary.

Trust us to have 3 top 10 picks.

That says a lot about our talent ID that we didn’t at least trade 1 of those for a future pick.

You obviously missed EDDIE FORD down the bottom.

We don’t have Zach Reid today, anyhow!

Why would Bryan by up for trade if Draper stays?

I think the theory is Bryan is good enough to be number 1 ruck and wouldn’t want to be second banana.

Bit early for that call.

Wasn’t Bryan playing as our 1 with Draper playing longer stints forward?

Draper said I will only stay if you trade Bryan.

He won’t be guaranteed first ruck, Vigo is coming through & he hasn’t signed a contract and will get offers from far more successful clubs than us.

It was more to do with team balance. Once we have someone capable of pack busting marks at full forward, we will go back to one ruck. Draper played forward because he can play that role. Doesn’t get enough credit for being able to play two positions imo.

Seems like the plan was to see if Bryan and Draper can play together. Clearly it’s not a great combo, and Draper wants to be the sole banana anyway.

Yeah, I also think Brad lost patience with Wright. I wonder if Wright has earnt back Brads trust with his recent form?

One thing regarding Draper I think he is a good clubman and would sacrifice his game if it meant team success in this case playing forward.

While Brad may not trust Wright, it doesn’t seem like he trusts Bryan anyway.

Draper/Wright is clearly a better combo than Bryan/Draper

Yep, happy with a Draper/Wright or Bryan/Wright but Bryan/Draper was not working well.

The question the club needs to ask itself is which combination is better

Draper/Wright

Bryan/Wright + pick 6 or 19

Clearly the second, Draper is good and a point of difference, but Rucks are just not worth investing too much cap space in.

Pretty sure draper is gone, why would you stay at Essendon when you can go to Brisbane and be number 1 ruck. The interesting thing is, I bet draper is getting paid the same as Oscar Allen, but we’ll only get a late first where as the eagles will get pick 2.

If it wasn’t already such a compromised draft they might do us a solid with pick 6, but the other clubs are already annoyed, so I think we’ll get screwed down. Funny thing is, we’d probably get higher compensation if we didn’t already have Melbourne’s first as well.
