AFL Fantasy have responded to my query.
There is no capacity for the commissioner to change any picks during the live draft.
Which means any errors need to be sorted after the draft or between coaches during the draft.
They’ve offered to leave it as it is and proceed as is.
They’ve also offered to delete the league, regenerate it again and start afresh. This means anyone who has done a ‘pre-draft list’ on AFL Fantasy will lose that info. I’ll need to sort out keepers again and do the draft order again.
If we do this, I’ll probably switch it to a commissioner done draft so I enter the picks as we go and still run it here on Blitz. @redbull. I think you did it this way for the other competition last year.
I’m leaning towards letting it go as is, doing the draft here on Blitz and coaches update the AFL Fantasy side of things as we go for the time being. It looks like it’ll let you trade players, which might be able to be done by coaches as we go.
I’ve extended the time between picks on AFL Fantasy to 24 hours as I have no idea what it’ll do when the time expires.
I’m trying to see if there is any way to get pick for pick trades to be done during a live draft, but the odds are it won’t let you do that. We’ll see how AFL Fantasy Help Desk respond to this.
It’s useless if the only way trades can be done is if you add a player to it. And you can’t find the other team’s draft pick when you’re proposing a trade.
There’s still a chance that regenerating the league and starting afresh is the best option to do. If we do this, I can probably sort this all out tomorrow morning whilst we continue the draft here.
There’s no way I’ll do it by tonight so a decision doesn’t need to be made right now.
Great features have been added. But difficult to actually use.
I think it’s safe to say, we’ll pause the draft once @You_Shall_Be_Smoten has taken his next pick.
Best to sort out the way forward before proceeding further.
AFL Fantasy Support have gotten back to me and said pick trading during a draft is not possible and they are looking to add it in a future update to the game. Which is weird because there is the trade symbol right near the draft pick when you go to your team.
I’m keen to find out if the @wimmera and @The_Mad_Bomber trade will actually go through on AFL Fantasy before doing anything.
It’s a useless feature if you can only do player for player trades.
We’ll discuss options in the Admin group and work out a way forward. Apologies for the inconvenience fellas. These features sounded great. Until we tried to use them.
The aim is to have a way forwards sorted by tonight. And with any luck I’ll do what I can to get things up and running on AFL Fantasy by lunchtime tomorrow. There’s a strong chance that we’ll just do the draft here and I’ll enter the draft picks on AFL Fantasy as we go.
It’s also worth putting a hold on all trade discussions if you have them.
We gave trading during the draft a shot and the AFL Fantasy App hasn’t helped.
We’ll see if we can mange it here and follow up on AFL Fantasy, but that’ll be for the admin group as we end up filling the gaps of what AFL Fantasy can’t handle and it’ll depend on time availability of the person managing the draft. We also don’t want to risk delaying the draft any further or causing any further confusion with doing some things here and some things on AFL Fantasy.
We’ll get back to you as soon as we can with clarity on what the next steps are.
Apologies again for the inconvenience fellas.
Ok online now. Always like to take my first pick before doing the autopicks. Think I know who I’m taking but want to double check. Should be done within the hour
Thanks for letting us know.
No dramas.
I think given the issues at the moment, we won’t skip picks at all.
I still don’t know what happens now that games through Opening Round have been postponed. Our bye rules will need tweaking once we know when they re-schedule games.
I wish I could just spend an hour researching for my next pick. I’d even take looking through the draftees available for longer than 5 minutes.
We’ll just hold things up for now and sort some stuff up before we go any further.
Things haven’t gone the way we were hoping.
Also, @Awesome_Scotty just took Smillie with pick 8 on AFL Fantasy instead of Langford who he actually took.
So it’s better off to stay quiet for a bit and let things get sorted.
Actually you are correct.
He actually took the right J Berry. From Port Adelaide. Who is available in the draft. Jarrod Berry is the one from Brisbane. Who is in a team’s keepers.
So that pick will be valid.
Even though I PM’ed him and told him he doesn’t need to take the pick.
Sorry lol he texted me it was my pick when I went to bed and I checked my phone at 4am to try keep it moving but thought I clicked Langford, nope. Lol sorry yall
